Wasn't Crawford the worst defensive player in the league last season?
By DRPM, yes. #2 was Troy Daniels and #20 was Booker.

A good fit for the team then. Punt defense build.

I just don't get this Crawford signing. He's good at hitting some clutch shots such as game-winners. Okay, but I don't want him taking shots like that for us; I'd rather have Booker, Ayton, or somebody else take such a shot. What's his role going to be? Bench microwave? I want Warren taking most of those shots. Starting PG? He's not cut out to play those kind of minutes at age 38. Run the offense? He's more of a scorer, not much of a distributor or defender. I just don't think he brings what we need. I'd much rather have somebody like, say, Ronnie Price or Ish Smith or one of the other good PGs being discussed (Dimwiddie, Brogdon, etc.).

If Crawford accepts, the Suns have to cut two players. I assume Canaan and maybe Bender. If we do not extend Bender, we need to cut him.
I think Troy Daniels should be a candidate to get waived, although I think he could be used in a trade. I don't know if cutting Bender is a good move; he is really the only other PF on the roster besides Anderson.

I think Jarrett Jack makes more sense than Jamal Crawford.

Damiels can really shoot it. I have nothing against the guy. But we need someone to create and break down a defense to the kick out which I think Crawford can still do. I would've liked to have seen Jack signed 4-6 weeks ago.
We're not going to cut Bender, tho I think his leash got a lot shorter with McD out of the picture.

I would assume if we cut anyone, it will be guys on non-guaranteed deals... We won't cut bender when we still owe him 4.6M this year.

So we are back to picking up over the hill role players that play no defense?
Are there any former NBA players overseas, whose rights we can get for a second round pick, that can be signed to a 5 year deal?

What difference does it make about Bender if we are not going to play him anyway? I never got this reasoning. If we are done with him, we are done with him. Move on already. If we want to keep him, then extend him and play him.

I don't get the all or nothing approach you're suggesting. The Suns have no depth at PF and Anderson has a history of getting injured. There is nothing to gain from waiving Bender now.

I would approach Sacramento and offer Bender for Skal Labissiere.

Does this mean the FO thinks the PG position is taken care of?
It means we now have enough PGs to make Voltron.
LOL. Solid 9/10.

Why would they be interested?

It feels like doing something just to say that they did. Can't fire McD then go into this season claiming that the roster was fine.
I do think Crawford can be OK for us, but he's not an nba starter anymore.

To be fair, he hasn't been an NBA starter for like 10 years.

Jamal Crawford has been one of my favorite players to watch. The last time I saw him play in person I thought he was pretty close to being done in the league. That was in 2012.
