Wouldn’t it be cool if everything happening in and around Gaza were just a TV show? The protagonists could be hostages who escape immediate captivity and have to find their way back to safety while Hamas is hunting them, IDF is blasting the whole area, and there is no open exit from the Strip.

If only it weren't real. Instead it is a waking nightmare for millions.

An interesting article breaking down the conflict and possible scenarios to break the cycle. In the end I think the guy comes to the same conclusion I have. This conflict will outlive all of us.

Opinion | Israel-Gaza Conflicts End Up the Same. Here’s How This Could Be Different.
Neither side seems prepared to break old habits. But here’s how they could.

In the Florida Congress, they're shouting "all of them" when asked how many dead Palestinians is enough.

Bombing a hospital versus bombing the vicinity of a hospital is too subtle a distinction for you?

If the hospital were hit, I kinda doubt MoTaz would have said “vicinity.”

There’s enough awfulness going on without having to make stuff up, Mori.

Israel Closes In on Main Gaza Hospital It Says Houses Hamas Base
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/is ... r-AA1jIoSj
(Bloomberg) -- Israeli forces are closing in on Gaza City’s main hospital, which they’ve said they want to take control of because there’s a Hamas command center located in tunnels underneath it.

Israel has said it is not going to destroy the hospital. Officials urged staff to evacuate patients and warned them of an impending battle. But the hospital has said it’s impossible to move everyone.

Such a cowardly move be Hamas to make their base and hide in a hospital.

A good collection of quotes from Israeli leaders about the genocide they are willfully committing in Palestine.

I'm not an expert, but it reads to me like Israeli's military did in fact attack a hospital.

But it's only in the vicinity. The bombs and bullets are only hitting the parking lot and windows of the hospitals, Marty. No big deal. Who doesn't like a few stray bullets and some windows shattering while they're in ICU, right? Nothing to worry about.

Who would have thought that the "Iraqi soldiers ripping babies out of incubators" hoax would basically come true 30 years later...at the hands of the Israeli military?

A good thread laying out the argument that what Israel is currently doing in Gaza is genocide:

^ Didn't know Oliver had tackled the Israel/Palestine/Gaza/Hamas situation yet. I will watch that for sure tonight after my kids are in bed. Thanks.

I find interviews like this embarrassing. There is a certain segment of the left that seems sympathetic to Hamas, unwilling to criticize them. That is quite wrong and reprehensible, IMO. Corbyn here should be better.

I love Oliver and think he does a pretty decent job tackling difficult stuff. Just too bad this is his last season and hope he finds a new gig. My dream would be John Oliver and John Stewart team up and do something together. I appreciate their work and ability to bring critical issues to people with trying to put a comedic spin on stuff; most always at the expense of politicians.

That’s some serious bs.
