Not a whole lot you can do to prevent that one, but yes, he's a magnet for injuries.

Perhaps limit him to 0 minutes a game?

X-rays were negative on his ankle, but he'd definitely going to miss some time. Does Mikal get into the All-Star game if both AD and Paul are out?

AD didn’t make the all star game, but it would keep him from being a Paul replacement

Thought it was interesting Giannis was so far behind Jokic and Embiid. They’re all pretty close to me. CP3 sitting at 5 and Booker at 10

As great as they have been, I have a hard time saying the MVP should go to a player on a team that can't get home court in the 1st round.

The east is weird because 1-8 are all so close. So I don’t hold it against Embiid/Giannis that they’re currently middle of the pack. They could win 3 games and be in 1st. Jokic is tough because he’s putting up numbers that have never been done before, he’s truly one of a kind, but Denver is just meh. If they stay 6th it’s hard to give it to Jokic. My guess is then winner will come from whoever’s team finishes the highest. Embiid probably gets it if they’re all close.

There really is no written requirements for selecting an MVP, but I would always ask these questions -

1. Is there one player head and shoulders above all the others no matter how good his team is?
2. Is there someone on one of the best teams in the league who you can argue is the best player in the league?
3. Is there a star player who has been added to a team that has helped make that team take the step up to being a championship contender?
4. Is there someone on a solid playoff team whom is greatly responsible for their team's success?

#1 of course is your Michael Jordan type, and we don't have any of those this year. (Jokić and Embiid would come the closest I suppose, but not that close)
#2 would include Steph Curry, Chris Paul, Ja Morant. (I have a hard time calling any of them best in the league though)
#3 would be someone like DeMar DeRozan. (again, not really a serious candidate to me)
#4 would be players like Jokić, Embiid and Antetokounmpo. (probably the best choices for MVP this year)

TODAY I would be inclined to go -

1. Embiid
2. Jokić
3. Antetokounmpo
4. Paul
5. Morant

Curry was higher earlier in the year, but I think he's slipped below Paul and Morant.

I still have Jokic as the MVP, what he is doing is unreal.

I wouldn't really argue with it if he is. Like I said, there's really no qualifications for the award.

Jokić is putting up some amazing numbers.

Is he leading the league in assists? I think not....

At this point I think they’re all essentially tied. The last 25 games will really decide it. I’m most curious to see how Embiid and Harden mesh and what the nuggets/Jokic look like when Murray and or MPJ return.

CP3 for MVP is a long shot. It'd take us running away with the league's best record, along with both Philly and Denver taking steps back. I think CP3 would win over Giannis if we have the better record. So it's more about Embiid and Jokic. If either one gets a nagging injury, that could cook their MVP chances, much like Embiid last season.

He won't get it though. Rare to get it two years in a row.

Ya I’d put CP3’s chances at less than 5%, but there’s a small chance

When you guys speak about draft prospects I always say that I don't know the young guys like before but yea back then I was for sure watching when Delonte n Jameer were tearing it up

Dude went from a meme to a real sadd story to see
Know I had seen the story about Cuban looking after him
All those mental issues and J still there 👍
