Injuries are part of the game
Injuries can be bad luck
This instance however is bothering me so much because I will watch over the game at some point to confirm but we had already got beaten down the court multiple times before this play. Just don't know where the guys heads were at to be so poor in transition D especially since from minute one Willie G was imploring the Pelicans to push the pace.
Sequence of events that should have never happened IMO

Just prepare yourselves that Book will be out at least the rest of this series. If the Suns advance, he’ll probably miss the beginning of the next series at the very least as well.
Last time he had a hamstring he was out 2 weeks
Yep. You could see it on his face too, he knows.

It really seems this team has a little trouble playing hard if they're not trash talking the whole time.
Everyone loves Willie Green and no one has bad blood with any of the Pels players, so they need to find a way to get that extra 'no, fuck you' edge.
Getting shown up on your home court should help a little with that

This rebounding nonsense is really showing the weakness of James Jones’ roster construction. He traded away a nicely developing rebounding PF in Jalen Smith, and it seems like he doesn’t want any rebounders on the team except for Ayton. And he’s refusing to keep Ayton under contract. So…zero rebounds? Is that what he’s going for?? Utter insanity.

Oh well, let's get our spirits up and bounce back game 3. Let's go Shamet and Cam Johnson. Let's get Ayton more involved too.

This bucket was so tough
The dap was so cool
Book was gonna drop 50+ and this should have been a highlight clip for the ages
Gonna be hard to remember this without lamenting the injury
Smh

We all have a tendency to focus on what the Suns did or didn't do right in a game, but it's worth noting the Pels shot the cover off of the ball.
54.8 FG%
56.7 3PT%
Their highest 3PT% the whole season was 51.7% against the Bulls in their second game of the season. I'm not going to take the time to find out how many times a team has had a better 3PT% than FG% on 30+ attempts but I imagine it's only happened a handful of times if at all in NBA history.

Rough night, Suns fam. We can't let this record breaking season go to waste. It's time to buckle down and win a game or two in New Orleans even if it has to be without Book. Next man up and all that. Time to really dig deep.

That's... that's not good at all.
Based on the YouTube doctor and my gut, I think he's out for at least this series.
Landry Shamet time. LFG.

We need the bench to dig deep
We need Monty to play them.. He's got to throw away this old school mentality of relying on his main guys in the play-offs it cost us last year and will cost us again if he doesn't evolve

Ayton played like it was a regular season game. Translation, he didn’t show up.
You expect him to dominate with 6 field goal attempts?
Go get the fucking ball and increase your fg attempts.
He’s not a guard dude. Did you see how many times he called for the ball in the paint and was ignored by Brick City on the perimeter?
This is in reference to getting offensive rebounds.

Also, I had a passing thought but I wonder if Monty is considering playing Bismack Biyombo in rotation to help with the rebounding. Just a thought.

Game sucked, losing Book sucked, the rebounding sucked, the transition defense sucked, the perimeter defense sucked.
We've had lulls like this before and we've bounced back. We got away with the rebounding issue in Game 1 because the Pels couldn't hit shots. They hit shots last night (a lot of them) and we paid for it. Can they keep up that shooting for the rest of the series? Murphy and Nance hurt us and those were the guys they needed to step up. Alvarado snuck out there and went 3-3 too.
Maybe Biyombo is an option for some bulk and rebounding inside but he's not really a longterm solution and limits us if he's at the 4. We're just not a real attacking team on the boards. We run wings as bigs so those guys have to really start crashing.
It would help if our own shooting got back on track - the Cams and Jae need to break out and I'm sure they will at some point. We'll need to see more CP and Mikal in the offense if Book is out. Shamet needs to play well but obviously can't put everything on him.
