Exactly. What a weird post from the NBA refs twitter account. "Sleepless nights"?! It's a regular season game in January. Come on. And the Lakers still had a chance to win in overtime.

Hmmm... Think's it ever too late to get one from Tim Donaghy? Our's was in playoffs and cost us a lot more than a regular season game.

LeBron and the Lakers have been growing increasingly frustrated with the refs. There was a post on Twitter LeBron Quote tweeted with 4 instances in the last two weeks with the Lakers getting screwed by the refs. I didn’t watch all the games to verify the legitimacy of the claim, but LeBron is the biggest voice in basketball. If they are going to respond to anyone it’s gonna be him. Probably not fair, but it’s the way it goes. Here’s the tweet:

Good point.
The thing that I worry about, is that I don't think the major issue is offensive players not getting calls. I think it's the exact opposite. Too many calls (and non-calls) are going the offensive player's way in the interest of increasing scoring. I think what LeBron is citing are just examples of bad officiating; but the systemic issues are:
- Stop allowing the offensive player push off with the defender with a forearm or hand to create space
- Stop calling the defender for fouls when the offensive player decides to run him over
- Stop calling the defender for fouls when the offensive player decides to create contact by bumping the defender
- Stop falling for the shoot and fall down fouls (there has been improvement on this one, but it still happens too frequently)

Luka Doncic is making this an artform ...

Ya there’s a lot of leeway for the offensive player…basically if you get even the slightest angle advantage on the defender and then veer into them it’s a defensive foul. I get why, but too many players completely take advantage of it. Is there a way to say if the offensive player deliberately sought out the contact it’s not a foul? Is that too subjective?

Thought they did away with this with the Harden rules?

You can’t do the whole veer in front of a defender and stop anymore…or the jump into them after you get them in the air on a pump fake…but less obvious stuff, like getting the angle on a player and then slightly leaning into them so it looks like they bumped you gets called all the time

If the Suns can’t get him, I’d be happy if Hornets can draft Gradey Dick and still rock the CLT jerseys next year. Warm my cold dead heart.
I just hope the Hornets also sign Kevin Love and trot out a CLT Love/Dick frontcourt.

Back to serious basketball talk, I wonder what kind of deal it will take to sign Kevin Love this offseason. Does anyone offer him more than the veteran minimum. I could see the Lakers potentially doing it, but can't see anyone else doing it.

If JaVale McGee can get $15M, it wouldn't shock me if Kevin Love is offered a real (non minimum) contract.

I'd love to have Love as a Saric replacement if Saric goes out in a trade in the coming weeks/months.

Does Love have much left? I think he’s closed to being washed. I haven’t watched him, but his stats have dropped off this year

Obviously he has his deficiencies at 34, but I think he can still be valuable in a bench role. He has a great IQ and can shoot. The biggest issue is when teams give him the same treatment Dallas did to Saric the other night and attack him relentlessly. He can be played off of the floor, so once the games get serious, he's more or less unplayable. Good thing for him the NBA schedule is like 90% bloated.
