I think that’s a team that could win a title. You don’t have the ideal #2 next to Book, but you’re loaded with #3/#4 guys. FVV, CP3, and Book can all create offense. We’ve seen the improvements of Mikal and we’d also have OG. A Mikal/OG defensive lineup would be lethal. FVV is a good defender as well and Poeltl is a solid drop defender…though he could get played off in a 5-out situation.
We’d have a Booker/Bridges/CamJ/OG switch everything lineup that could add FVV or CP3 for offense or add Okogie for defense or Poeltl/Biyombo for size.
It doesn’t make us favorites, but it gives us a better chance than currently and the guys are young enough that we’d maintain value through those 1sts we give up.

I assume you’re projecting that lineup for only this season because it’s not financially feasible beyond the next 4 months. FVV, Cam and Poeltl will all get significant raises and Paul would be a $30M backup PG.
So giving up a bunch of future assets for one run that involves so much mid season overhaul is not a realistic risk to take.

What if it’s Ayton for OG and FVV…how many picks would you give up for that?
I’m not a huge FVV guy, but that loads up our guard and wing rotations. Then you can try and move Crowder for a big.
I suggested Ayton and Cam Payne 2 1st for FVV and OG and then use Crowder to get Poeltl on the previous page and everyone shitted on me lmao
They shitted on me too for sayin Ayton and 3 1st for Siakim but y’all definitely trippin on that one. That’s more than fair a deal.
I wouldn't mind trading Ayton, Payne, Crowder and 3 1sts and come back with FVV, OG, and Poeltl. I think the team would be much better and ready to compete for a title.
EW
Shit on both of you
3 1sts!!! For that!!!
I know it sounds gross, but we are improving 3 positions/players, imo. The idea is to win a chip, and they are all relatively still young and in their primes. I don't trust Payne or Ayton & Jae doesn't do anything for the team anymore.
3 1sts AND DA for 3 role players
You’re not giving up 3 1sts unless you’re getting a #1b or at least a #2 to Book
I’m taking Immodium because of you guys tonight

Off the rails. I'd rather just keep DA at that price and hope for the best.

When Booker went out the second time with the groin injury I started getting flashbacks of KJ's hamstring... Just hoping it's fully healed this time before he returns.

All depends on what Ishbia is willing to pay. I also think you can renegotiate that CP3 deal.
Book at 36
Mikal at 21
OG at 18
Cam at 18
FVV at 25
CP3 at 22(15 guaranteed + a 2/15 deal)
Poeltl at 12
Shamet at 10
TPMLE at 6
BAE at 4
5 vet mins (total of 8ish?)
That’s 180 million…14 million more than this current roster. Right in line with what the Heat and Nuggets will be paying next year too.

I think those projections for FVV, Cam and Poeltl are all too low.
Poeltl will likely be $15M+/year. FVV will get at least the same deal as Brunson, so minimum of $25M but probably a bit more. I expect Cam's deal will be at least $90M, so somewhere in the $22-25M range.

You’d be ecstatic if we drafted players as good as FVV, OG, and Poeltl with our next 3 picks
Poeltl and FVV are both about to hit free agency and OG is a year remove. So you're not even guaranteed to retain those three. But if you do retain them, it will cost you $80-90 million and you would have also dealt Ayton too.

Nah, he's still only 26, you trade Ayton, CamJ, unload as much dead weight as possible, draft and work FA.

It's hard to build a roster when you have to pay every rotation player fair market value. You almost need 1-2 guys who are still on rookie contracts who are better than they're being paid to be. Otherwise you just can't afford to pay everybody.

a. Trading Ayton for anyone other than Sikam is a tear down and start over move, as the team has yet more holes.
b. Trading for another SF / Wing? (OG) Why? We don't suck there.
c. A breakout backup PG and an upgrade at PF are our known issues. None of the drivel getting spouted addresses EITHER of those. WTF?
VT
If you can get OG without losing Ayton, Bridges, and Book you do it. OG is a top defender with ceiling to get better offensively. Missing out would be a mistake. He is a bigger and better defender than Crowder and could play the 4.
Did you miss 'a'...trading Ayton for...which was the point. You seem to agree w/that...so...
