Josh Hart has taken a step back this year for some reason, but he provides the perimeter defense they need and were looking for in an Anunoby trade. Cam Reddish sucks, so it's a pretty good deal for the Knicks this year, IMO.

Marginal move, gives Thibs a solid vet to play 30+ minutes. Feels like more of a luxury than necessity but they moved off Reddish, who might come into his own in Portland.
Every trade deadline I smh at how some guys find out at the arena. Wasn't there a year Harrison Barnes was already on the bench so just didn't check in for the rest of the game ?

Damn I'd have loved to add Josh Hart.

I see two intentions at play:
Obviously keeping assets for potential KD.
Keeping assets for Ishbia to play with this offseason and put his stamp on it.

We didn’t have an easy way to trade for Hart…we also couldn’t really beat that LA offer for D-Lo, Beasley, and Vandy…The truth is we didn’t have 50 million in expiring like LA had. Utah saved a lot of money next year getting off the Conley deal and that pick is more valuable than any pick we own.

Not sure what the point of Utah having all that cap is. Highly doubtful they lure a superstar there plus their fans have a poor reputation amongst players. They're just going to become the new Thunder IMO.

Well I don’t think it’s the major reason they did it, but there’s things you can do with cap space…undoubtedly there will be some team that wants to dump a contract and Utah can make that happen for a price. They also just become a worse team with this trade and get a higher pick.
