It seems like injuries are just up all around. Did players just play through injuries more in the past? Is the game tougher on players bodies now? It is something I’ve thought about.
Food for thought…
Imaging, diagnostics, and medicine in general improve over time.
IMO, players were more likely to play through “minor” injures because their earnings were far lower and less diverse. I’m essence, their “window” to accumulate wealth was narrower.
I’ve had this discussion with a few NBA junkies here and tend to push back on the the take that the past was more physical than the present. The players today run, jump, and make more explosive movements at a much higher volume than 20+ years ago. The pace of modern game produces more wear and tear on joints than the much slower post-oriented version of the game.

Ya they might have banged bodies more in the 80’s and 90’s, but the nba requires a lot more from a movement standpoint in todays game. We ask 7 footers to defend out to the 3 point line. There’s all sorts of full speed closeouts happening and players are just more athletic…or I should say there are more high level athletes.

I can't see Embiid holding up physically for 4 rounds.

He’s not even holding up physically for one round, but they don’t need him to win one round. If he can hold up for the other three, that’ll do.

I have a hard time being critical of Embiid's durability at this point in his career. He plays so damn hard and is the focal point of basically everything the Sixers do on either side of the court. By comparison, he stayed in the game after picking up the knee injury while someone like AD would automatically be out for a month as soon as it happened.

He should probably stop flopping though. I saw a compilation of him falling to the ground in this series and it’s pretty bad. He seemed to hurt the knee, or at least aggravate it, when he fell over contesting a CamJ drive.

MSG looks like a great place to watch a Knicks playoff win. It always seems like the crowd is very knowledgeable and into the game, and they don't blast pop/rap/rock music or give the crowd cheering instructions every 30 seconds.

That's fair. He does seem to unnecessarily go to the ground way too often.

Suns are going to get no help at all from Minnesota. Edwards is pretty damn good, but nothing else about that team really works at all.

Nope, it’s looking like 4-0. Denver is going to be done before us.

Good thing we don't need much rest since we're doing an awesome job managing the minutes of our stars.

Again, this is going to play into our favor. If our guys are being able to run at 40 minutes. Denver is not going to be able to keep up. Jokic can’t go for 40 minutes a game. They can’t win without him on the floor. This is our major advantage.

Sixers are up 3-0. They may be trying to rest Embiid.

Except for the games in Denver where the elevation will come into play.

Yeah, but I don't think the Suns beat the Clips with them instead of KD.

You think? I'd think our depth would have been much nicer so we didn't have to see the likes of Shamet..

Nobody draws the attention that KD does, look at Books numbers since KD aboard. They'd make everyone else beat them.

Books numbers were like that before KD got here too.
