Regarding Young, just seems like it would be a surprising hire since he was the lead assistant for Williams. (I feel like I can't say Monty anymore because of Marty. I personally don't feel it's disrespectful. It's just his name and it's more descriptive than Williams.) Unless, Monty really wouldn't listen to or was slow to adopt his ideas. I don't know. Maybe via discussions he has given them ideas for how he'd like to run the team that Ishbia and Jones like.
I think I overreacted by saying in the past that calling him just "Monty" sounded disrespectful. I think the way it was said in a few cases rubbed me the wrong way, but I think I've seen plenty of folks refer to him as just "Monty," so I am not bothered by it any more. Monty, Monty, Monty away!
I don't really get the enthusiasm for Young. I don't want them to hire him, even if the players like him. He's part of the old regime. If he were any good, we wouldn't have choked so hard in the last two years' playoffs. If we were going to keep Young, why not just keep Monty in the first place?
I think I would want Lue most, then Nurse, then Vogel. Not very informed about Jordi but I'll try to learn more about him.

Wow, the more I learn about Jordi, the more I like him. Did you know he has been visually impaired since birth? But despite this he managed to graduate from the prestigious Zefram Cochrane academy and even worked for several years as a chief engineer. Sounds like a smart guy! We should hire him.

I don’t necessarily think a guy coming from the same coaching staff means he will be the same. For all we know he was telling Monty to do everything we wanted Monty to do and he said no.

That's a fair point. I do wonder whether Durant, in particular, would be receptive to either Young or Jordi given what he and Irving said about not needing a head coach in Brooklyn. It feels like he would want a coach that has at least won a championship rather than a rookie former assistant or an ex-player that hasn't reached the pinnacle (Nash).

I do think that was more Kyrie than KD. Kyrie said it and KD just kinda went along with it, if I remember correctly
Here's how I would rank the final five candidates:
1. Nurse
2. Rivers
3. Vogel
4. Fernandez
5. Young
Young it is!

Gambo said that according to one source in the know, Nurse is the leading candidate at the moment, followed by Vogel.
I almost put Vogel second on my list, just never been very impressed with him. But Rivers' playoff coaching has not been impressive in the last several years. I would not hire someone without experience for this team.

"Rivers' playoff coaching has not been impressive in the last several years..." Or, on other words, he has sucked...

I'm sure Doc Rivers would love to coach the Suns so he could play 36 holes every other day.
