I think you’re being generous. This team has one of the highest payrolls I sports and they can’t win more than half their games.
It's worse than that. They are 10 games UNDER 500. Inexcusable. This whole team wasn't very fun to watch. There were very few bright spots during the season. Time for a new blueprint. The problem is we aren't left with many tools. Well, KD is the big one but will we even get half back of what Ishbia gave up.
I can't remember a time I disliked the vast majority of the roster.
I basically only like CG, and Dunn and Oso are EH. They're not difference makers on a legit team, not as they currently are. Time will tell how they develop.
The rest of the roster including Book was a total disappointment. Idk that I'm on team trade Book; but I don't care if we do trade him.
I'm hoping to see 12 new players on this roster next season.
If any of the following players are a Phoenix Sun next year it's a tragedy:
Royce
Grayson
Tyus
Beal
KD
Plumlee
Lee
Losers that I don't hate but not particularly impressed by:

I'm with you except for Royce and possibly Allen. I could go either way on Grayson but I'd easily exchange him for a need like a power forward or athletic defender.
As the season has gone on, I have gone from "never trade Book" to "only trade Book if he demands it" to, now, "give Book a call and see if he wants us to help him work on a trade." I wouldn't trade him without his consent, but I would actively explore it as a possible option. I would only do it if we could get back control of several of our future 1sts, though, from Houston or Washington or whomever has them.
Royce was good to start the season…he’s looked very checked out since the all-star break. Grayson is fine…but I think he needs to be on a team with better infrastructure to cover for his weaknesses as well. He’s a poor defender and you can’t have him on a team with other small guards.
I honestly don’t think there’s a single player I’d be upset by if they moved. I like Gillespie, Dunn, and Oso as well, but I’m not gonna shed a tear if they aren’t here. Though it makes very little sense not to give Gillespie that contract right now. Sign him for next year already.
I’d like to keep Dunn, I really don’t see any benefit in trading him. Idk what his ceiling is but he’s come such a long way from what we all thought already, I’m pretty confident he’s going to be a solid rotation piece for years to come.
While at the time I was very much against it, looking back probably would traded him and Beal for Jimmy. I genuinely believed Jimmy could’ve turned this season around and extend our window another couple years. That ship has sailed tho. Dont think adding Dunn to any trade is gonna net us anything super significant.
Maybe if our lotto pick hits 1 and rockets are want to keep all of their young studs but be willing to do salary filler + 1 overall for KD, Dunn, Oso and 1st…I’d probably do that lol resetting with Copper Flagg and Book is sexy enough for me. Doubt that would ever happen lol a boy can dream.

Ya I think I’m where you are. I won’t be upset if we move Dunn, but there really doesn’t seem to be a reason to do it. It’ll depend on the trade for me of course, but if we are getting a good return, I’m just not gonna draw the line at Dunn.
I don't think Bol is going to be back. Coach Bud liked him for a little bit as a different look, but after a few games he realized what every coach realizes: that Bol Bol doesn't listen. He just goes out there and does whatever he wants, and he doesn't care about the system or the play or the defense or whatever. He just does Bol Bol stuff. It's too bad; if he could fit in better he would be a legit rotation player.

He's the only player that couldn't get in the fan appreciation game in spite of the fans chanting for him. I think that give Bud a bad look.
It's sad because I think Bol has a unique skill set that could be used situationally to really make a difference. I agree with Mori's take about him doing his own thing. If he could be trained to utilize his skills (and maybe bulk up a bit) he would be a keeper. I guess we can write him off as another Ayton - potential but wasted.

Yep, he needs to work on defense and rebounding. But he seems to be content to just get shots up.
He's had multiple years here. And he's 25 years old now, still young but old enough that he should be showing more signs of awareness. They say big men take longer to develop, but is Bol Bol even a big man? He plays like a guard, and he isn't very interested in defense and rebounding.
I would keep Bol here on a minimum contract, but I doubt he'd want to stay for that price. If he stays or goes, I'm fine with it either way, so long as we don't commit money to him.
He's more of a curiosity than anything else - an extremely tall player with some offensive ability (he's got a nice shooting touch), but no interest in any "big man" responsibilities. He's pretty much the exact opposite of his father as a player.
Until he stops missing assignments on defense his coaches won't trust him and he'll be a fringe player, or at best, a rotation player on a bad team.

I like a lot of things about Bol, but the pleasant feeling I get when watching Dunn, Oso, and Gillespie is from their bbiq, hustle, and actually caring about playing on both ends of the floor. Bol floats around too much, gives inconsistent effort, and makes way too many boneheaded mistakes. Let's just bring in more smart, hard-working, hustling, guys who care about defense. That's the kind of team I want.
