So every 2 to 3 years a new GM comes in and purges all the moves the prior GM made and we laud him and say how refreshing it is and how we’re back on track. Well we got rid of the knuckleheads though right?

I love this team but this offseason has not been any different than when McDo came in and did the same s***. Jones (or Bower) haven't done anything extraordinary. Oubre was our top priority and he remains unsigned. They settled on Rubio after they whiffed in Rozier (thank God)

We’re hemorrhaging picks left and right. There’s 40 million of buyout salary out there just in the last year!!!

He’s still got an incomplete grade because the offseason isn’t over yet. As of now we’re still trash but I guess it’s an upgrade from hot garbage though right?

All I’ve seen from Jones is that he knows how to clean house. But I’ve yet to see if he knows how to restock the cupboards.
I'm afraid you're just going to have to wait out the season to see the results.
Maybe Strange will let him borrow the Eye of Agamotto.
Eh, probably not. Strange is pretty protective of that thing.
If it’s OK for Thanos to have it, it should be OK for y2j to have it.
You really think he was OK with it?

Calling OG. Can we safely retire your assertion from my signature?

Up to you. You're the one who put it there. I never said to mark it down.

You should probably amend it to: O_Gardino: "Ntilikina is going to lead the NBL in assists once he gets going[2025]..."

There were three things I thought absolutely had to be fixed from last season -

1 - The PG situation. They had to find an NBA starter quality PG this season.

2 - The PF situation - The had to hind am NBA starter quality PF so they wouldn't be playing SFs there constantly.

3 - The Josh Jackson situation - They had to do something about Jackson - he has been terrible and they couldn't afford to play him 20 minutes a night if he wasn't improved. And his behavior over the summer shouldn't make anybody optimistic.

I think all three situations have been addressed satisfactorily. I don't think they hit any home runs this summer, and I hate to see Holmes go, but I think the environment and the accountability are both headed in the right direction.

But there's still a loooooonnnnnnng way to go. This will be a successful year if they win 30-35 games. There is still a shortage of talent because so many high draft picks failed to pan out.

I pretty much agree with this post. If you just look at the current roster in a vacuum with no context and no idea how we got here, it looks pretty decent, like a sensible roster that was built with some thought given to the needs of the team in mind: PG, PF, shooting, defense, high character guys, bball IQ. I like this roster WAY better than last year's.

If you do look at how we got here, it feels like we squandered a lot of assets to get to this point, and that we probably could have gotten this roster or an equally potent one while better managing our position. In particular I'm miffed about giving away so many 2nd rounders and giving away so many assets simply to get out of contracts.

Overall I have mixed feelings but am excited about this team for next year. I don't think it's a playoff team, but if they re-sign Oubre, I think they could win in the mid-30s number of games and be much improved over last year.

Solid post. I don’t have any problem with the end result of what we got.

We replaced Warren, Jackson, Holmes, Daniels, Bender, Melton with Rubio, Saric, Johnson, Baynes, Jerome, Kaminsky, Carter.

Clear upgrade and focus on iq, passing, shooting.

Now how we got here wasn’t always the best. We overdrafted on Cam, overpaid on Rubio, and had to dump too many picks. I hope this was just some drastic measures to pull off what is essentially a total reset and not an indicator of how we’ll operate from here on out from as asset management standpoint.

All this is bullshit.

Davis, KD Kyrie PG Kawhi Russell all changed teams this offseason and we got Ricky Rubio.

5/6 went to LA or New York, we didn’t have a chance for any except maybe Russell

Russell wasn’t worth the max to us with our roster. Russell/Booker wouldn’t have meshed too well.

Dallas the only team now that can offer him a decent sized offer sheet.

How much space do they have left?

I saw 22 million listed earlier today. Also said they were considering a Delon Wright offer sheet though.
