I love how even in an interview where he is explicitly trying to court black voters, he just cannot help being casually mean and racist and rude and off-putting. Much like many Republican politicans and media folks, he just cannot help it.

And still I think he's gonna win the electoral college. Sad.

An amazingly disastrous interview for Trump. If any Republican thinks he is going to have impressive black support in 2024, you can kiss that byebye. I'm reading that it was so bad that his campaign advisors pulled him off the stage after 35 min in what was supposed to be a full hour interview to stop the bleeding. These damaging quotes are going to be run nonstop by the Harris campaign and media for weeks.

Oh man. Trump has a rally on tonight and I guess they're choosing to double down on this biracial / "is Kamala Indian or is she black" thing. (The smart thing would be to move on and never mention it again and pray it doesn't keep coming up, but... this is also a choice?) Honestly this is just crazy offensive rhetoric. "Unlike you Kamala, I know who my roots are?" Ooooof. This cannot be good for Trump's support among non-white voters. Well, in her defense, you can see her roots quite clearly. Lots of dark hair in there.

They just don't know how to talk about any of this stuff without sounding super ignorant and racist, LOL. This is all such "awkward grandpa/uncle at Thanksgiving dinner table" type of foot-in-mouth talk about races and demographic groups. You'd think professional media and political candidates would be better at this.

People are comparing this stuff to the Trump/Obama "birtherism" from back in the day. It is similar, in the sense that Trump was racist then and is racist now. But there's a difference. With the birtherism, even though it was racist, it at least had some plausible deniability ("I just want to see the birth certificate, I'm just asking questions") whereas this stuff about Kamala's race really has no plausible cover story. It's just, this person is biracial, I challenge their race and deny their racial identity for no reason other than to stir up shit.

I am really enjoying how, because Trump is the king and emperor, whatever ridiculous and moronic thing he says immediately has to become the talking point of all their various low-budget propaganda networks like RSBN and Newsmax. Here Trump tries a new line, hoping it'll catch on: Kamala is fake fake fake, but he will fight fight fight!

(fwiw, this line is lame, and the biracial attacks are lame, but I do think there's some kind of attack in here about Kamala being "phony" or "fake" that could hit if they figure out a good way to package it.)

I don’t think his words change anything…what he says makes the people who don’t like him, dislike him more, but it just makes all of maga like him more.

At this point it’s just how many non-voters and 3rd party voters can Kamala get to vote for her…I don’t think many people at all are honestly debating between Trump or Kamala.
