It really all comes back to Trump…Trump getting away with comments like this has empowered lots of other people to just say how they feel and show their true colors. Worst of all it probably makes them think they are right to feel that way.

In their eyes they’re more genuine and honest than Dems because they don’t hold back. Shouldn’t matter what party it is… rule of thumb: you shouldn’t be hateful or disparaging to anyone.

And if you have some hatreds or biases, you should question them and try to change them, not embrace them.

"Thug" is the real tell. The moment some white person starts referring to a group of black people as "thugs," that's their socially acceptable N-word replacement. Reminds me of that recent interview with Rich Lowry where he slipped and clearly said "Haitian (N-words)" before correcting himself. It's what they think of black people.

OK, I have to admit, this gave me a laugh.

Republicans weirdly continue to insist that Trump won in 2020 and won't answer when directly asked who won that election. Vance has even started overtly saying that Trump won. IMO this is yet another disqualifying disregard for American democracy.

He also said in the same interview that the election was a fraud, so I guess his position is that Biden employed massive fraud to eke out a narrow victory.
