dont blame the roster, taht team is built on defense (same with NY). and pippen really not a good outside shooter. during his tenure with the bulls he shot 69% at the line. that's why he handles the ball a lot for phil jackson. if opposing teams had analytics back then, they'd just let him shoot from outside.

Anybody else watching Toronto/Miami Game 7? Was pretty close for most of the first half, but TOR is widening their lead here in the 3rd quarter. Now up 72-58. Miami just doesn't have any 3-point shooting; nobody on the team has made more than 1, and they're shooting 28% overall on 3s. They really show how much the 3-point shot has changed the recent NBA. They work so much to get each basket and come away with only 2 points. It just takes too many shots and possessions for them to rack up the score they need. And the lack of Whiteside in the middle lets the Raptors mediocre guards charge their way to the basket every time.

I also think it is funny to see Bismack Biyombo, a former MJ Bobcats draft pick and bust, as a big contributor on another team in the playoffs.

Bigmen need time!
I'm watching the game. I'm glad Miami closed the gap a bit, so the game stays interesting. It seems like Lowry and Derozan make every shot though.

Also Miami can't get a rebound!

Great series, two pretty well matched teams. Lowry just put the nail in the coffin. I would've liked to have seen LBJ vs Wade but the Raps are easy to root for. Hope JV is back to make it a series against the Cavs.

Turned into a real blowout. Does anybody think the Raptors stand any chance against the Cavs? This ECF has sweep or 5-gamer written all over it.

Good on the Raptors for getting to the conference finals. I'm pleased for them. But they're no chance of going any further.

Why, because he bashed the Suns management on the way out? What did he say that was unfair or untrue?

He was a classless turd, Markieffian levels of turdness in my book. I will never support a player that bashes their own/former team. To hell with him.

I am just a mercenary when it comes to other teams and former players. I want Miami and the Heat to do bad because we own two of their future picks. A down cycle for them would be good for the Suns.

Don't forget that Markieff bashed the Suns and dogged his play *while* he was still here. He didn't even wait until he was shipped out.

Kieff is in his own class or lack of it.

I don't think we should be using Keef as the barometer here. Even if what Goran said was true, he fucked our team over. There is no way around that. Maybe our front office needed the kick in the ass, but he was kicking the fans too.

And is anyone really impressed with or think DeRozan is worth big money? I just don't see it but people talking like he's a top tier perimeter player cashing in and going someplace like the Lakers. I think he's 2nd tier at best and is only near the top of the FA list because it's a weak class of FAs.
What's wrong with you guys! I can't wait for the Lakers to sign Ezeli and DeRozan to the max and team them up with D'Angelo the Filmmaker, Julius the Alligator, and Jordan the Chucker. Ezeli will play 40 games a year, DeRozan will score 23 ppg and bring them to the 7th-9th seed in the West every year, and for the next 4 to 5 years they will never get out of the first round, yet will not have cap space for a true difference maker free agent. That seems like the best-case scenario in my basketball world, outside of the Suns somehow becoming relevant again.

I think JV has made some serious improvements. If he's back healthy, I can almost see the Raptors winning 2 in this series. If not, they'll be lucky to squeak one out.
That's one team that really could've used Kieff's iso-game.

I'm with you there. To that end, I'd love to see Dragic play well next year or so and start that down cycle in 2-3 years time so that the second pick we get from them, the fully unprotected one, could be very high. So yeah, I'm rooting for Dragic to keep their next few years mediocre.
