While I agree with the statement that the Cavs aren't well managed, I don't think your post is very compelling. How many decades did great Suns players play with zero championships? Does that mean the franchise was badly managed by Jerry and Bryan Colangelo? I'd argue that the management back then was excellent overall, but sadly it just didn't lead to the ultimate prize.

Pretty sure that LeBron is head and shoulders above any player the Suns have had for 9 years. He is the best player on the planet, and has been for a good portion of his career. If you can't build a championship team around that, you may be Ryan McD.

Probably not elite at anything, but no weaknesses either. He rebounds, defends, passes, can shoot, can score down low. I don't know if that means trading picks, trading up, trading down and picking up assets, drafting two high end prospects at areas of needs, trading for a high end veteran, then signing a high end Free Agent, or all of the above. I hope that McDonough and his team are going over every possible scenario and putting the wheels in motion to make this the best off-season in Suns history.

Bender is still about 2 seasons away from being a 5. He needs to continue to build strength, without sacrificing agility and athleticism. Although, I'm not so sure that the Suns strength trainers really know how to do this, as I can't remember a single player that they've improved their strength without then losing some athleticism. Maybe Len, maybe. In all honesty, it's going to be up to Bender, and I don't think he sees himself as that type of player. Don't forget that his idol and the player he tries to pattern his game after is Toni Kukoc.

Agreed. Big off-season, here we come. There's a possibility of a new coach and GM as well.

The way I see it, there's two good paths:
1. The Suns really like the draft pick and grab a couple of starters to get the team competitive while our younguns grow.
2. Trade the pick plus other assets for a legit star and fill holes in free agency.
And the most likely path:
3. Horde the assets, go into the season 3 deep at every position, get surprised when players ask to be traded, and end up with a hodge-podge of players who don't make sense together.

I think that Booker and Warren will be our returning starters next year. We will have new players at the other three positions. Maybe Chriss or Bender could improve, but Chriss needs to pull his head out of his ______ and Bender needs to quit playing hot potato in the corner.

We don't know that Jabari is going to immediately help them out. They actually improved when he exited the lineup last year. He is a very talented player. But he is not an easy piece to fit in. Even before his (second) injury, he was one of the league's worst defensive players. He requires the ball to be effective. I think they are better off longterm with Jabari in the lineup, but they may experience some hiccups this year.

I think there is about a 50% chance Warren is still a starter for us next year. He is signed to a great contract and his value is at an all-time high, which means he would almost certainly be included if we made a large trade consolidating our assets for an all-star caliber player.

Interesting, Hernangomez would be another nice asset, not worthy of taking that mammoth contract back, but perhaps we could send them one of our 2nd round picks (even our own) with Monroe; for him, Frank and Noah.

Or talking about bad contracts, Noah and Hernangomez for Brandon Knight, still an upgrade for them.

Some valid concerns, but Jabari going out coincided with Middleton getting healthy and I think that was why they got better. Still, I think they would be smart to bring Jabari off the bench and always have either him or Antetekounmpo on the floor.
