I think we are better team than what we are showing but the trade deadline absolutely killed what little vibes we had left on this team, combined with Bud being a dumb ass. Just all bad news. Bring on the offseason already. Fuck.

Well we definitely aren’t getting the same value for KD that we gave up. We never were.
I’m conflicted on what we are going to get for KD. I was thinking it would be low, but
then I saw what the GS offer was and it was still kinda good. The one thing we have going for us is teams have to get close on salary and most of the teams interested will have to move good players to match salary.
Was it?
Jimmy, Kuminga, 2 1sts, 2 2nds and dumping Nurk? Ya that would’ve been amazing.
I disagree. Both Jimmy and Kuminga need to get paid. I know there was talk of Jimmy taking less but I believe that was with idea if he was teaming up with KD and Book, I don’t think he accepts a discount with just one of those guys instead. He probably takes a deal similar to GS gave him, combine that with what Kuminga would making next year. We are once again in the same position of being a second apron but actually a worst team than this current team. Also when the talk of dumping/swapping Nurk to Washington for valanciunas first came up, Gambo said we’d be giving up asset to do so, and there was no indication that still wouldn’t be the case still in the KD trade, so those 2nds from GS or one of our late 1st would still be going out to dump Nurk.
I’d still prefer potential trades with Houston, OKC, Dallas, SAS, or Minny than the GSW deal at the deadline tbh.
Ya I guess it depends on whether the asset was coming from our haul from GS or if it was separate and not counted as the 2 1sts and 2 2nds. The way I heard Gambo say it made it seem like it was GS paying even more to help us dump.
Yes we would’ve had to pay Butler and Kuminga, but I don’t think we would be a worse team. Butler would’ve been a better fit. I’m not a huge Kuminga fan and honestly would’ve preferred to move him to another team, but those 1st round picks from GS could be pretty nice.
And yes there are potential trades with those teams that I’d prefer, but I’m not sure we are going to get what we want from those teams. I’d love Naz/McDaniels/Dillingham from Minny, but what if the trade is just Randle/Divencenzo?
It would be great if Houston would give us all our picks back, but what if they only offer 1? Jalen Green/Jabari Smith Jr(who will need to get paid soon) and 1 1st? Dallas might just try to dump Klay on us.
It’s easy to be in favor of a trade that we make up in our heads…I am interested to see what we actually get for him. I do like Dallas though as they really can’t trade with us without giving up good players.

Yeah I don’t know why so many people thought the GS offer was junk.
But part of the problem now is that KD is literally 12 months older than he was last month.
What kind of new math is this?
Literally 12 months older this month than last? Huh? He's literally one month older.

For purposes of a playoff run for a contender, yes. April-June 2026 is 12 months later than April-June 2025. His value has thus decreased significantly.

Well if all that matters is what he can do for you in the postseason…he’ll be 12 months older the next time he can help a team in that sense.
Edit: Too slow, Jeremy got back to it first haha

Another way to look at is that a team could have had him for 2 playoff runs before his 37th birthday, now they can only have him for one.
EDIT: And we all know what happened to Chris Paul on his 37th birthday...

That's not what you said. 12 months is 12 months. One month is one month.
Now you got it.

Now do Nash. Everybody is different. Durant can probably continue to do his thing into his 40s.
BTW, when did KD become a turnover machine? I never noticed it (probably didn't watch him that much) before he came to the Suns. Has he always been so sloppy with the ball and with his handles?

I think it started in 2022 playoffs against Boston…they got really physical with him and he just no longer had the explosion to make teams pay for it. The scouting report got out that you just crowd him.

I agree, he'll be able to chuck, ballhog, be unbothered, turn the ball over, Tweet all day, and kill franchises for years to come!

Calling KD a chucker and ballhog is a new.

Yeah, subtract those two and I can agree with the rest.

I was trolling a bit. He's not really a chucker or a ballhog. But he exercises poor decision-making and tries to initiate offense too much, leading to bad turnovers.
