I'm honestly so disappointed in Devin. He makes, what, $70M per season? In the most important game of the year he gives us 7-17 with 5! free throw misses? 0-2 from 3? Like what the actual fuck?
Go Suns!

Feels like I should be writing my end-of-season review, but I won't do that in this thread.

Really disappointed with Ott's continued lack of adjustments. But that's on me for my own lack of adjusting my expectations. I have lowered my expectations for Ott. The Suns have a lot of imperfect players, and I don't think this roster has an ideal lineup. So it's up to the coach to shuffle the lineup situationally.

Goodwin wasn't affective against Avdija all night, but for some reason Ott never threw another guy out there. I'd have made sure Brooks, Dunn, Oso, and Fleming were all over Deni and that he was seeing a new guy every time he got comfortable. Goodie played great, but he gives up so much height. Maybe try doubling early to get the ball out of Deni's hands and make someone else beat us.

Oso lead the team in assists, but the Blazers figured out that they could just leave him alone when Colin was on the bench. Oso might be the smartest player on the court, but that doesn't matter if he's not involved int he offense. I thought Williams was overmatched inside just like Oso, but they both did a good job of keeping Clingan and Williams from scoring.

I'm not a fan of Green's game. Yeah, he hit some tough shots, but there's a reason all of the shots were tough when he was on the court.

Brooks was our MVP this game. Did his thing on defense and he was the key to our biggest runs.

Booker's maturity was on full display, and the ball moved much better with him out there. Still too much ISO at the end, but you can see that he know how to play within an offense. He just played like he had nothing in his legs - no quickness or elevation at all. Looked like he was fighting with his girl the night before the game, spent the night having make-up sex, and then spent game day wondering if it's all worth it.

Royce O'Neale played one of his best games with great stops and rebounds in our late run. He was still -12, because he isn't a power forward.
"Hey, Jane - get me off this crazy thing called love." - Charlie, but also Suns fans wishing we didn't have to watch more 4th quarter small ball but knowing we will tune in for the next game.

I was watching the end of the Heat/Hornets game on Prime until the Suns game started. It went to overtime but they ended the broadcast with 45 seconds left in the game. Wow!!
I know this was the wrong thread for this but this is where I put it. And I thought maybe it was just me. Guess not lol

I'm sorry if I repeating the same point but everyone knows we are flawed
But if my volume scorer drops 35 I "Take That" knowing there were times he probably should have dished or had turnovers
And if my hot headed dude doesn't do any dumb shit trying to be overly physical or chuck up a bunch of shots thinking he's That Dude but shoots efficiently.... I "Take That"

There's just no defense for Book's play
Too unselfish, not aggressive, got screwed by the refs, foul trouble/mins.....

Nothing
Just plain unacceptable

Feels like that Gambo post might be a message from the org.

But Book plays better with roleplayers around him, not other volume scorers or smaller guards screening for him. Thought our coach would recognize that by now but guess not.

The Amazon Prime technology TOTALLY SUCKS. They ruined my night. (Well, Suns too, but I wasn't able to see what happened until this morning.) I wasn't able to watch the game until very late. Basically just after the game had ended. When I tried to start the broadcast from the beginning, it just jumped to live and showed me the score!!! You bastards! I avoided it all night just for you to ruin it just before I started watching. Not only that, but I could not for the life of me get the broadcast to start from the beginning. Every time, it would jump to live. Beyond frustrating. I don't think it was until well after the broadcast had finally ended that I was able to start from the beginning. And then I only made it to half time before falling asleep. Had to watch the rest this morning.

And the interface is absolutely f'n horrible. When I try to fast forward, it randomly either jumps 10 seconds or starts fast forwarding. While watching the whole second half, I could NOT get it to act consistently. And last night, it was totally different. Always jumping 10 seconds and never fast forwarding. You know how long it takes to get through a commercial break 10 seconds at a time? And this morning when it did fast forward, it takes a couple seconds to respond while you're trying to get it to start playing again! WOW, is it bad.

OK, now that that's off my chest, onto the game. This picture is an example of what Portland was allowed to get away with. The Blazers players are also masters of throwing their head back and exaggerating fouls to bait the refs. That was mostly in the first half though.

Image

Book's 5 missed FTs was the difference. Absolutely no excuse. He choked. He also didn't give us much else in the fourth quarter. Green, was amazing, but with the good, there were a couple of very costly turnovers in the 4th.

And then, yeah, what's with the all guard lineup to end the game. I don't want Ott fired, he does a lot of good, but his issues really came to the forefront to end the season. He's a rookie head coach so I think we should give him some time to improve. Just make sure that he does. Our youth really showed out to end the season and yet they coudn't see the floor in big games even when they would have been advantageous. I'm hoping next year they're all a regular part of the rotation. A lot of our veterans may be gone. Allen has played great when he as played but he's just too fragile.

It will be interesting to see what veterans we keep next season. We need to allow time for our youth. The center rotation has a lot of issues too. Some to Williams just not being played enough and then we have Oso's obvious limitations. Man Man is the future here obviously although Williams is still young.

As far as the play-in, I still want to see the Suns get the eighth seed just for the experience. Even if we go 0 fer against the Thunder. But I wouldn't be surprised at all if we get eliminated on Friday. That may result in more turnover this coming offseason.

Scoot Henderson got away with a lot of fouls last night. And that's not sour grapes because the Suns lost, it's the truth.

Lots of thoughts and lots of reasons we lost, but biggest reason was the inability to keep Deni from the rim at the end. He killed us down the stretch.

I hated the facial expressions, complaining and whining by the ugly ass European guy on the Blazers. Refs let him get away with barking and complaining all game.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

We had two guys sitting on the bench who could have prevented that. However, they are rookies so apparently they are ineligible to play in an important game.

Still playing like he's scared Luka is going to come out of the tunnel at any minute. Feels like the Bucks and Mavericks series traumatized him.

Too tall as well. Gotta keep the average height below 6'6".
