We laugh, but surely there must be a fair market for them. 76rs and Sacto could really use Knight.
Yeah, I'm more interested in what the 76ers or the Kings may have to offer.

What do you suggest they give back?
For Tucker, I would be thrilled with a future First round pick from a good team, or even a future second rounder from a bad team. He's a solid player, but I don't know that we would get much more than a 2nd back for him. For reals: Tucker for Price + 2019 2nd round pick is probably a pretty good trade for us.
As for Knight, I really don't know what his value is around the nba. CHI doesn't have anything I particularly want except future picks. I would be perfectly happy with 2 future firsts for Knight, but I don't know if we could get that.

I'm not ready to dump Knight yet. I'd like to see how he performs as the sixth man on our team during the regular season.

Price? As in Ronnie? How do we have any room for him in our backcourt? Why would you want to trade Tucker for him? I'd be willing to move Tucker for the right price, not for Price.

We haven't yet seen the real Brandon Knight, if you believe McD.

I wouldn't expect Price to play. I don't think we have room anywhere on our roster for a contributer, with the possible exception of SF if you trade PJ. So I would want back a vet who can mentor the young guys, and who doesn't expect to play. But I didn't mean "good trade for us" in that it is a great haul. Just that I don't think Tucker has huge trade value around the NBA, and based on what we got for I.Thomas and M.Morris, that would be the best we could hope for.
As for Knight being 6MOY, I certainly hope he plays that well for us. I don't know where he would get the minutes, if our other guys are also playing well. You usually don't get 6MOY if the starters are playing better than you.

I felt a pang on conscience about not investigating before making this claim. So I went to the internet for evidence. You know, just in case.
Well, I couldn't be more wrong without being wronger. Plenty of winners play behind a tandem of very good players, and they don't really need much more than 25 minutes per game to win. So, you go B Knight! If you start getting 6MOY awards now, you have a chance to catch Crawford and get the most bench awards ever.

Yeah, I like Price but we don't want to take on ANY more guards. If a guard comes in, a guard has to go out. Preferably, we let one go. Probably Archie and that's even assuming Jenkins isn't on the opening night roster. Six guards is really pushing it, seven is ridiculous.

I actually think PJ may have some value, though first rounder is a reach. If we wait till the trade deadline and contenders look at what they need, PJ might serve a real purpose. Even Marco Bellineli got traded for a first rounder... Maybe we can wait for MKG to go down for the season and send them PJ for their first next year once they realize Batum can't take the abuse from 3/4 tweeners.
Or we jump into any Rudy Gay trade by facilitating some pieces and salaries, and drop PJ on the Kings for some future assets.
I think Knight's value is not the highest right now. I would be more than willing to move him, but hopefully the bench role will pad his stats and he'll continue to push 20 pts and 4 assists, and then we can get something nice for him.
Markieff/IT are not fair comparisons. Markieff trade was brilliant if viewed in isolation (everyone knows we had our pants down but we avoided getting raped), whereas IT trade didn't make sense no matter how you slice it.
Right now we have some flexibility to maintain status quo... Especially now that Knight has accepted the 6th man role. We are not in any specific hurry to dump anyone, and personally I'd like to see us get another high pick, so I don't want to get a rotation 4 back. I'd rather just throw Chriss and Bender to the wolves, assuming their psyches can handle it.

I have one question about preseason stats. I've recently downloaded the Bleacher Report app and follow their updates, and often they show preseason game tweets with key stats for one player from each team, and about 50% of the time those players have points only with 0 rebounds and 0 assists. Is that because preseason stats are kept differently, or are those tweets stupid, or do these players really do only work on shooting and ignore passing/rebounding? If you played enough minutes to get 20 pts, just by sheer chance some rebound must've fallen on your head, no?

In your research did you find that most of the 6MOY are on top 10 teams in the league? I would guess that is the case, and there is no way we are that.

Yep. They are mostly on 50+ win teams. Harden won on a 47 win team, as did Ben Gordon. Harden being one of the most deserving candidates of all time and Gordon being one of the least. So...
But I think people's point stands that Knight could play that style, if he's OK with 26-28 or so minutes. And that he could get recognition in the NBA if we win.
I don't really think he will be happy coming off the bench, but I would be happy to be wrong on this one.

I think he could be very happy doing it if we are a top team in the league and he gets recognition for "sacrificing" for the good of the team. But I don't see us being very good, so I think it will go south at some point. I wish him the best in his new home.

There are rumors. There are denials. Don't be surprised if he's traded before the end of the season. Don't be surprised if he isn't.
Boy, that writer is really going out on a limb.

I just hope it isn't to the Suns and if it is the names Bender, Chriss or Booker aren't involved.

I found it interesting what MacMullen had to say about "some things going on" and how she wouldn't take him on the Cs. Is there something personal going on with him or is it just on-court stuff?
I can't forget that Riley got a meeting with him, despite not having capspace to sign him. That always stuck with me for 2 reasons: Aldridge was turning down teams with capspace he didn't want to play for (Knicks) yet took a meeting with Riley; and Riley just might have planted a seed in his head. If the Heat hold off of the Dragic trade, you got Dragic, Winslow, Aldridge and Whiteside. Not bad in the East. Aldridge is the #1, has the defensive center behind him and Dragic is happy because he'll be contending.

How would the Heat trade for LA, without giving up Winslow, Whiteside, or Dragic?
