Where's INF with his "so long 29-pointer" post?

Would they have to give us a pick? We couldn't trade him for a highly conditional option to swap second rounders? Or a dollar in cash?Indy wrote:I am assuming they worked something out with him because someone showed interest but didn't want to give a 2nd rounder. He just wasn't going to find minutes here.
Archie just is never going to be a shooter. I think that is now obvious. It may not be that he did not try, its just that some people will never ever be able to do it. It was time to move on.djy2j wrote:Thought I'd be more upset than I am. Archie showed flashes. But they were the same flashed he showed in year 1 as year 4 or whatever. John Jenkins won't endanger chemistry at least. He still is more of an urban legend. People talk about how he can light it up. What? When? Where?
I've read about Derrick Jones Jr. I still don't know who he is.
My guess is that whatever was offered for Archie was not more valuable to the Suns than the cap space freed if he gets claimed off of waivers. So will he be claimed off waivers up by someone? His salary is $2.1 million for this year.Cap wrote:Would they have to give us a pick? We couldn't trade him for a highly conditional option to swap second rounders? We'd get that same cap space if we traded him without taking back salary in the deal. If the goal is to get him from the Suns to Team X with his contract intact, there's no need to go through the waiver system to do it.JCSunsfan wrote:My guess is that whatever was offered for Archie was not more valuable to the Suns than the cap space freed if he gets claimed off of waivers. Don't sweat it, Carey. The news threads aren't a job, we just all do this for the fun of it. Usually you do it first because you have a talent for that (and we appreciate it). It's no big deal if you don't get to it. As soon as it starts feeling like an obligation or if you start feeling guilty for not posting the threads, that's a sign that it's time let someone else share the work.carey wrote:I want to thank you guys for picking up the news slack as a community. My son had a baseball tourney yesterday. They came in second which meant we played 5 games and we were there from 8 in the morning until 10 at night. Then had to drive home. My legs are mush and I kind of slept half the day away today. I'll get the weekly news thread up shortly.

I was hoping we could swing a trade for Portis before people saw him play in preseason last year. With Valentines ankle maybe that would give him some room behind Wade but it probably is not as good a fit now as what it would have been last year.
Suns Shut Down Any Archie Goodwin Suitors, Keep Him At Core Of Future
JAN 21, 2015 8:42 PM
The Phoenix Suns have made clear to Archie Goodwin and around the NBA that the franchise has the second-year guard as a cornerstone of its future, shutting down interested suitors, league sources told RealGM.
Whenever contacted with interest from major- and minor- market teams, the Suns have shown no willingness to move Goodwin, promising that he’s a major part of their talent core.

It doesn't seem that anyone is a good shooting coach or can improve shooting in the NBA besides Engelland.Superbone wrote:I had the same thought about Hornacek. Nobody can.sunshoopjunky wrote:...if Hoiberg cant teach him to shoot as a SG than nobody can.
Ouch! It's true that he's the last remnant of FOE, I believe.Nodack wrote:You had your chance and blew it. Questionable shooting, questionable attitude. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
