I don't get it.

Not long before he left the game and the court, Warren began grabbing his left shoulder and shaking his arm. Miles drew attention away from Warren when he hurt his left knee but Warren simultaneously went to the training room and then the hospital. He said it was not a concussion.

“Just a minor head injury,” Warren said. “They didn’t really give me too much detail but I should be all right.”

Just read that. Something's weird there. Maybe some sort of stinger in his neck that made him arm go numb?

Enough said. I won't say anything else about Brandon Knight until he's traded.

FWIW, you can say almost the same thing about Len. AASE is -130 on the season, Len is -127, and the team is -104.

On the other end of the spectrum we have Ulis (+32), Bender (+30), and Williams (+21).

Obviously, we'd have a perfect record if Ulis, Bender, and Williams started.

The only way I can keep myself from crying about Knight being on the team is to see how the Lakers have a strong record so far. If they make the playoffs, we will have traded a middle-first-rounder for a shot at Knight, which is still horrible, but not franchise-crushing horrible.

In layman's terms? The Suns, a team that is perpetually outscored, outscores their opponent when Brandon Knight doesn't play. That's a huge red flag.

You think?

bobster, which is the most reliable statistic to gauge a player's defensive efficiency?

Defensive rating = an estimate of pts allowed per 100 possession
Defensive Win Shares = an estimate of the number of wins contributed by a player due to his defense
Defensive Plus/Minus =

There's so much that goes into defense - you have to throw the eyeball test in the too.

I wouldn't say there there is any one way, but if a guy stinks at all of them (like Knight does) that tells us a lot.

I don't know the answer, but any form of plus/minus is deeply flawed and can't be used as the primary argument for much of anything.

there's still a way to salvage knight and watson.

start all 3 (booker, bledsoe, knight) + warren

suns have enuf backcourt talent and wing players to fill backup roles.

but if you have to choose one, which is the best among the 3 stats to sort players defensively?

I really thought the team was going to be better this year. Looks like we're going to be one of the bottom feeders again. At least it's finally in a really good draft. I think we will be better when Warren comes back but it's looking like a sure thing that we'll be in the bottom third of the league.
