Our problem is that we want to move Knight, and Tucker while we still can, and let's be honest, we need to take back *some* baggage to get rid of our own, so we are all looking for something that is least destructive. Is Rubio perfect? Certainly not. Will his place on this team, given the state of the players/chemistry/specific nuances of our coaching staff be more beneficial than having Knight here? Maybe. And that's good enough for me to pull the trigger. But of course in this case I would want to move Bledsoe a little more urgently and perhaps keep Chandler since we can leverage the pick and roll much more.
Sure. If it's Knight for Rubio, I'm in!

I also think our front office likes Bledsoe too much to dump him like that. He was bumpy to start the season but has been playing really well since then. And his contact is pretty reasonable in today's NBA. I think they want to keep him and have him be the face of the franchise, for better or worse.

Honestly, I would be too. If it's Knight and Tucker for Rubio and Shabbazz, I'd do that too.

Agreed, I think Bledsoe is here to stay. I guess if we continue to struggle he could ask out, but I don't think our front office has any plans to move him.

He'd have been cool to have if it wasn't for his injuries.
No matter how well he plays, he's proven that he's an every other season player. Meaning he won't play at least half of next season when he tears the meniscus in one of his knees again.

There are two kind of players in the L. Basketball players and guys that play basketball. Bledsoe, as good as he's been, falls into the latter category. He's not a winning basketball player. Sorry.

I'd like to move Bledsoe, too, believe me. I just don't think the front office agrees. I think they get fooled by some of his stats, and they like how he is a good guy in terms of staying in the city in the summer, being first to show up for summer workouts, those kind of things; being a representative for the team and the city. That stuff doesn't count for squat once the game begins, but I think they care about it. I also think they like that he is "their" guy, that they found him and acquired him. He validates them and their decisions.

I think he is a basketball player. And if this were the late 90s/early 2000, he would be dominant. The problem is that is now how the league plays anymore.

Did you know that the Suns have the same record this year at the midway point (13-28) this year as they did last year?

Last year we finished 23-59. My guess is we finish this year more like 29-53

Does anybody know what the other half is?

Not sticking anything pointy in your eye.

Or anything not ph-neutral to the eye. That stings.

Split T wrote:Knight for Rubio is a lateral move at best. There is no chance of Rubio playing over Bledsoe, and for those who want to trade Bledsoe for Rubio, I think you're crazy. Minny would jump on that trade so fast. It would be an absolute heist. It'd be a worse move, value wise, than Knight for the Laker pick.
We don't need to move Knight just for the sake of moving him. He's hardly even playing anymore and is not hurting our team in anyway. If we can get value for him, then by all means, we move him, but I don't see Rubio as value. We'd be trading Knight's crappy pg skills for Rubio's crappy shooting. I'd rather have Ulis backing up Bledsoe.
Knight for anything is a positive move. So long as we're not taking back a bigger contract. He's a detriment to the growth of this team.

It's addition by subtraction. Same at M****s last year. Get a 1st and move on.

Exactly. He produces something good about 1 out of 8 games he plays. It isn't worth it. And he is having an effect on the team overall, that is not positive. Remove negative influences. It is easy to sell to the players too, even in the "we are family" mode. It is clear he doesn't want to be part of the family, since the family has goals greater than one self.

I just don't see the negative influence he is having. Unless you mean negative influence on our winning percentage. His play has caused us to lose games, but he's been fine attitude wise.

Yeah, I get a little offended by the Markieff analogy. Knight is, as far as I can tell, a good citizen. I bear him no animosity. I just don't want to watch him playing for my team anymore.
