It's the first thing I looked at when I saw the boxscore. I said, Kawhi had 37 points on 14 shots? Oh he went 19-19 from the FT line. How many FTs did Memphis have? Oh, 15? Makes sense.

I will never understand how some teams get to the line over 2x as much as another team. We know Memphis doesn't just sit there and shoot outside jumpers all game. At least they don't when they play the Suns...
Go Suns!

In regular season, Spurs were 24th in FTA per game at 22.0, Memphis was 12th with 23.4. Suns with 26.3 were second to only Houston. Overall, the difference between Houston (1st) and Knicks (28th) is 5.4 attempts per game, Dallas and Detroit are in their own group at the end with under 20 FTA/game. If anyone wondered :)

At least Kanter looked like he may fair well on dancing with the stars should that ever come to pass.

Dirk is so fast you can't get to him to commit a foul!

Ref had a bad night They seem to have a bad nigh a lot when the Spurs are in the playoffs. I didn't see the game, but I bet Pop spent half the game out of the coaching box yelling at the refs.

Is there any way the WCF doesn't come down to Warriors-Spurs?

The only outside shot against that is if Houston is on fire and somehow gets past San Antonio. Which I wouldn't rule out, but I still think the Spurs are the team to bet on to get to the WCF. If Gobert hadn't gotten hurt, one might be able to make a wild prediction about the Jazz, but now I doubt that.

I can too, unless they let the Spurs play rough without calls.

Especially with the calls one way in their favor. I think the NBA refs are scared of Pop.

538 did a very short piece on how the grizzlies had the worst ft disparity in the nba all season long. Like, they foul a lot and don't get fouled very much.

He also has experience on how to work refs. The really good coaches develop that...

Rox making a huge 4th quarter run with Harden on the bench, perhaps undermining his case for MVP, but he doesn't seem to mind.

Rockets end up with the win. Up 2-0 now on the Thunder and look to be in control of the series.

In other news, Warriors are already up 22-11 on Portland right now. This series won't go very long. Feels like a sweep or maybe a 5-gamer if PDX can pull one out in their home floor.

Warriors aren't even playing Durant as a precaution for a calf strain. The general feeling with the Ws is that they can take care of the Blazers without Durant, so why push him coming back from injury.

I thought they might have been wise to just rest him the whole series. He looked a little gimpy out there in Game 1. I agree that they don't need to rush him back for a first round series that will probably be lopsided.

Yup, I'm convinced, Harden has a real supporting cast, Westbrook doesn't, and Westbrook deserves the MVP.

Nailed it. $30,000 was the fine.
