I think last year was Clevelands last year. LeBron is still incredible, but after that its a crap shoot. Boston is playing Spursy basketball, everyone involved and Kyrie is a legit closer. Crazy they look this good w/o Hayward.
Interesting to see what Cleveland does this next year. I would not be surprised to see him leave. But he could go somewhere surprising.
Milwaukee. LA (Clippers not Lakers). Knicks.

George Hill has been pretty bad. You could also say the money LAC spent on Griffin and gallinari was pretty bad. Griffin has been good but they aren't playing well. Still time for them to turn it around.

Maybe Paul Milsap. 90 Million over 3 years, he's averaging 29 minutes per game and will now miss 3 months. The team isn't playing well enough to expect a playoff spot, and it doesn't look like he will take them to the next level. They're paying 30/yr for veteran leadership on a non playoff team.

Yeah, that's pretty bad. I hate to use injuries as a reason but they weren't exactly good with him either.

Nothing is worse than Jrue for 5/125.
Miami's collective expenditure on role players has not been inspiring either.

Denver is fine. They're tied for 4th in the West right now. Sucks that Millsap got hurt, but hard to hold that against them.

25 per over the course of his prime isn't the worst contract in the NBA. His team will likely make the playoffs, and he plays the most minutes on the team. Sure, there are better guards in the league, but that franchise that has only won 50 games once, and they have to take any opportunity to make the playoffs.

They've played a really easy schedule so far. I just don't believe that they have the talent to compete when they start playing good teams regularly, with or without Milsap. 30 per is too much money for a guy who is just a veteran rotation player.

I don't think you give millsap enough credit. He was struggling a bit to start the season, but he's not just a rotation player. He was an all star each of the past 4 years, puts up 17/8/3 with 3 blocks + steals, plays great D and can stretch the floor. He's a great fit with jokic. Denvers issue is in the backcourt.

So they payed 90 mil for a player who doesn't solve their problem?
If Denver makes the playoffs, and Milsap is there contributing Actually All Star in the East type numbers, then maybe he's an ok pickup. If Denver is still mediocre and they don't have the cap space to sign an Actually All Star in the West, well then that contract is bad.

Well they had two issues before they signed Millsap.
1. They needed a PG
2. They needed a better replacement for gallinari
Kyle Lowry would have been their best bet at PG in free agency, but they couldn't get both.
Bledsoe made sense for them, not sure who said no to the bled for Mudiay/#13 but that would have been good for both teams.
I was really surprised Denver didn't go after Kyrie. They could have given Cleveland youth (Murray, hernangomez, Beasley) and vets (Chandler, faried, Barton) plus picks. They could have added Harris if need be. Irving/Millsap/Jokic would have been great, plus whatever they had left over in the trade.

Not interested in DeAndre but I'm sharing because I think it is a good take on the Clippers situation

They should've fired Doc Rivers when they took away his GM title. He's been riding the coattails of that Celtics championship for way too long.

Wonder if the Clips would've had interest in Bleds. Feel like he'd have been a better fit overall with the Clips than Bucks.

Maybe we can ask for backsies with Milwaukee and see if the Clips will offer us a better deal!

Sucks for Beverley. That takes 2 years to recover fully from and he'll be 31 by then.

Same. That was a concern of mine had we been in a position to draft him. And consider LA is where he actually wanted his son playing. The whole thing would've been a distraction.
