I had the same reaction at first, but I think cap was making a prediction of the future. If we trade for Kawhi, he'll have an injury riddled rest of his career because the Suns are cursed.

But, to be paranoid, a guy who averages 66 games/year when young might not be all that healthy as he gets older.

Got it. Makes sense if cap is predicting what it might look like.

As for the risk of a guy that averages games a year, when he goes all out on both ends of the floor, all game, that doesn't worry me too much. If he was a 1 way player and still couldn't play 75 games a year, that would.

I agree. I would want to use Kawhi with Jackson like the Spurs create defensive matchup problems with Green and Leonard where the offense has a hard time getting a switch.

Wow that is totally out of context man.

The trade mentioned was Jackson + #1 overall pick for Leonard. There’s no way I would do that for anyone in this league. You get one or the other of those two.

The Kyrie deal was never for the #1 overall pick. It was Jackson + a first round pick. That pick was not going to be the first overall pick, we don’t even know which pick it would have been offered (ours, protection, Miami pick, etc).

I would be willing to swap Warren and Jackson in my said deal if we absolutely couldn’t get the deal done otherwise, but then I wouldn’t offer so many picks. Maybe Jackson + Better of Miami/Mil picks this year + Bender.

Now if we were to fall to 4th overall, I’m not nearly as married to that pick and I’d be fine sending it out

I just didn’t want to rehash the Kyrie trade you guys were all wrong about. I think Kawhi is much more valuable than Kyrie. If healthy Kawhi to me is a top 3 player under 30 to build around. If he somehow becomes available and we don’t pursue him, I don’t think we’ll find a better opportunity.

But no, I wouldn’t trade both the first pick and Jackson for him. I would trade either, but not both.

Ah, I misread it sorry. If our pick is #1-3 overall (Doncic Ayton Bagley), I value it much more than 4 and beyond.

Kawhi doesn't do it for me. I think he's overrated a bit....THAT'S RIGHT I SAID IT!
