Hope the Suns get some good publicity with this hire with him being the first ever Euro HC in the league.

I'm cautiously optimistic. They could've hired someone much, much worse.

Alright, a new coach. What are we going to call him? Kokoskov just doesn’t roll off the tongue very well and Igor reminds me of Young Frankenstein.

Now for that free agency splash after we draft #1.
In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.

I'm fine with the hire. He has a good rep with players. The Suns could have made a worse choice. If we get screwed out of the #1 pick then it won't matter. With that being said, the pool of available coaches available was pretty terrible compared to alot of years. It's like choosing the best player in a really weak draft. So to say the Suns picked the best available is fine but if I keep hearing that he was a "home run" I'm going to barf. Dude has done NOTHING to warrant the title of "home run pick."

Sarver: Igor, if we offer you the position right now would you accept?

Igor: YES! It has been my dream to coach an NBA team! I accept!

Sarver: GREAT! you'llbemaking17dollarsanhour I'll alert the media! Welcome aboard.

Sarver has to be smitten.

There is always going to be ridiculous, congratulatory hype for moves made by the team.

People hyped and fawned over Earl Watson for his sound bites and exaggerated rep around the league. People heralded the Suns drafting Chriss and Bender. So to see people calling this coaching hire a home run isn't surprising. Still, I think there is reason for cautious optimism here. And on the surface, I think the Suns could have done worse.

I am kind of with you here but trying to be a fan of this franchise has been a difficult task at best. Koko seems to have what we need. At this point in time it appears like a very good hire.

I heard something today about Koko. He was once one of the best players in the world but was involved in a car accident and was not able to play anymore. He then dedicated himself to coaching and is reportedly an extremely positive individual especially in his handling of players. Is all that true?

This is really appears to be a breath of fresh air after what we have had as coaches in recent memory.
What was the reason to get rid of Monty again? Oh yeah, that guy we drafted rather than Doncic.

Not all of us fawned over Earl Watson. I could not stand the hire from day one. I could not stand the day we was made interim coach either. It took him a couple of days to take over as he had trouble extracting the dagger he put in Hornacek's back.

The Suns Dantoni-Kerr tree is growing: Mike D, Gentry, Kerr, Kokoskov

Igor distracts me as well, and Koko reminds me of some Gorilla in a random movie I can recall.

I know it’s already taken, but in this era of remakes and nostalgia, I will try Coach K, easy, short and hopefully a good Omen. If the confusion remains after a few weeks, will go for Coach Kov.

Koko isn't a movie character, she's an actual real-life gorilla. And apparently a rather smart one.

People hyped and fawned over Jeff Hornacek too.

I remember how he was supposed to be some shooting coach guru that was gonna turn Archie Goodwin into some kind of All Star.

Not quite as interesting if they wind up picking fourth.
He can still force his way to Phoenix like Jackson did last year.

Would rather go after Exum as he is a natural fit next to Booker with his defensive ability.
