The pairing of CPMe, Harden & D'Antoni is prime choke material.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:Warriors win Game 1. Home court advantage reclaimed. Man, watching that, it felt like an old Suns/Spurs matchup, with the Warriors playing the role of the Spurs. Houston had all the D'Antoni/Suns hallmarks: showing a lot of offense and energy early, but then feeling it slip away. The crowd even felt like a Phoenix crowd, with their sphincters slowly tightening as the second half got rolling.
Well, yeah, you try to fit three people into a pair, and of course it’s going to be a choke point.carey wrote:The pairing of CPMe, Harden & D'Antoni is prime choke material.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:Warriors win Game 1. Ugh, now he's a Warriors AND Spurs fun. Disgusting.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:Warriors win Game 1. Home court advantage reclaimed. Difference between the old Suns teams and this Rockets team is rim protection/rebounding. Rockets have Capela while the Suns has nobody.Marty [Mori Chu] wrote:Warriors win Game 1. HOU still needs a third star. Harden-Paul is nice but sadly not enough against these Warriors. The NBPA really screwed the league balance by refusing a smooth cap increase in 2016...UglyTruth wrote:Difference between the old Suns teams and this Rockets team is rim protection/rebounding. Or Kevon. Something like that.O_Gardino wrote:Kevin Looney doing a nice job hen switched onto the guards.
Problem is, they are paying Ryan Anderson like a star. Because they panicked and offered too big a contract to a big guy who 'fit their system perfectly', but turned out to not be the right piece for them.Ring_Wanted wrote:HOU still needs a third star. Agreed on Anderson. His contract is another absurd product of the cap spike in 2016, with two years remaining after this season at 20M and 21M. I guess if they surrender a couple of 1stR (at least one unprotected) they could use it in a move for a star that forces his way to HOU.O_Gardino wrote:Problem is, they are paying Ryan Anderson like a star. More than 20 million under the cap this summer, and your statement is totally accurate. Crazy. Plus they have 5 other empty roster spots to fill. Assuming Paul + Capella get big deals, a new guy on a mid level contract, and about that much for Ariza, they will hand out another 70-80 million this summer.Ring_Wanted wrote:Agreed on Anderson. They still need to pay Paul, Capela and Ariza, though. Their cap landscape doesn't look bright.
Yet. Give it a couple weeks. It's obviously coming.O_Gardino wrote:They haven't even won 2 in a row.
