Around the League: Week 15 2/3-2/9
Re: Around the League: Week 15 2/3-2/9
You win AIG
Re: Around the League: Week 15 2/3-2/9
Who’s got the bet between those two? Someone paying Josh Jackson to sabotage KP? Haha
Re: Around the League: Week 15 2/3-2/9
Hey, this is Devin's agent. Good times.

Re: Around the League: Week 15 2/3-2/9
Knicks gonna Knicks. Rose will be out of there in like 2 years and the Knicks will probably end up with a tampering fine or something at some point.
Re: Around the League: Week 15 2/3-2/9
This is probably true. He's also KAT's agent. Seems like an interesting direction. Are they still going after Masai Ujiri?

Re: Around the League: Week 15 2/3-2/9
Rose is/was a power agent with CAA, with direct business ties with MSG. If they hire Rose and World Wide Wes as rumored, Masai isn't going to NY. Still remains to be seen what happens to Scott Perry but I imagine he's gone unless they just keep him around to do normal exec work. Or they could bring in another exec to do that.
Re: Around the League: Week 15 2/3-2/9
So Book and KAT in NYC soon?
Re: Around the League: Week 15 2/3-2/9
Maybe DLo.
I do think teams are eying DLow as a means to get KAT. Surprised Minny didn't push more on that potential deal. And the Knicks have been linked to DLo for the same reason I think.

Re: Around the League: Week 15 2/3-2/9
The Knicks got Dlo in for a visit this summer, right? I can totally see the NYC throwing 120M/year to those 3 guys, and not getting anywhere in the playoffs.
Re: Around the League: Week 15 2/3-2/9
But he isn't Dlo's agent, right? Just Book and KAT?
Re: Around the League: Week 15 2/3-2/9
He's not DLo's direct agent, but DLo is still a CAA client. Same company.

Re: Around the League: Week 15 2/3-2/9
I don't think the Knicks approached any max level FAs in the summer time and they didn't even have interest in DLo from what I've read.
Re: Around the League: Week 15 2/3-2/9
Really does feel like signing D-Lo would have pretty much ensured we got KAT at some point. I didn’t love Russell as a fit, but we still should have done it.
Re: Around the League: Week 15 2/3-2/9
I disagree. I think he would be a bad fit and I don't think investing 120M in those 3 guys gets you much besides an exciting offense. You can make the playoffs, but not get anywhere. And you have to fill the rest of your roster with g-league guys (you know, like we have been doing the last few years just because).
Re: Around the League: Week 15 2/3-2/9
Not necessarily. It just depends on how much Sarver would be willing to spend. We could have had 2 of them already on the roster right now and just need to trade for KAT. We’d have to probably go into the luxury tax but you could put a team around them.Indy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 11:28 amI disagree. Markets outside of a top 5 metro area are not going to spend in the L-tax area unless they have a crazy rich billionaire owner that is fine losing money on a winning season. That is not us.Split T wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 11:34 amNot necessarily. It just depends on how much Sarver would be willing to spend. Re: Around the League: Week 15 2/3-2/9
You’re probably right, just saying it’s possible to build a non g league team around those 3 if you’re willing to spend.Indy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 11:35 amMarkets outside of a top 5 metro area are not going to spend in the L-tax area unless they have a crazy rich billionaire owner that is fine losing money on a winning season. Re: Around the League: Week 15 2/3-2/9
Houston beat LA last night. They are now undefeated since sitting / trading Clint Capella with 5 wins after losing the last 2 in which Clint played. They've beaten a couple of playoff teams, but the Lakers were the first contenders they've faced with their ultra small experiment. So far so good.
