Game Day: Suns (2-0) vs Mavs, WCSF Game 3, Wed 05/06/22

I have a gut feeling Ayton will need to put up some gaudy numbers in this one for the Suns to win. The Mavs are certainly going to change their defensive scheme (or at least try), and I expect they'll leave opportunities for everyone besides Paul and Booker to get good looks.

I hope the team takes a page out of Mikal's Game 2 book and attacks close out defenders with a hard dribble and look to score at the rim or dump off to a big guy. Punish the Mavs with points in the paint and they'll eventually leave openings for Paul and Booker to close the game.

The betting line has slowly moved the Mavs direction the last two days now with the Suns as +1.5 underdogs. The Suns were around a 6 point favorite going into Game 2, and a 7.5 point swing from Game 2 to Game 3 seems a bit weird to me.

I'd take that. I don't think the Suns are gonna lose on Chris Pauls birthday. That and I don't think the Mavs are in the same stratosphere as the Suns.
