TRADE: Ayton/Camara for Nurkic/Allen/Little/Johnson

Wow. Sorry Jeremy. I'm not happy either.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Nurkic will be Googs 2.0.
Re: Ayton for Nurkic
We were supposedly interested in Allen going back to last year in those Crowder deals so I think the FO likes him. He's an irritant and will give us another shooter/scorer off the bench.
Re: Ayton for Nurkic
I think Allen is pretty good, definitely the 2nd best best wing behind Gordon. I'd like to keep him.The Bobster wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 11:42 amNot the whole deal.
All I can say is I hope they have a deal lined up for Grayson Allen to pick up a point guard.

Re: Ayton for Nurkic
Fully expected to see him traded for Nurkic + slop and still am underwhelmed.
That being said, and maybe this is copium, but if we keep Grayson (yuck), he could fit decently well as an insurance policy if JO can't hit shots. Still, he's extremely redundant at his size in terms of defensive use.
Nas Little is a bit more intriguing. Another guy with great length (6'5" with 7'2" wingspan), can slot in 2-4, and has shot 35% or better from 3 in 2 of the past 3 seasons. He's also on very tradable contract similar to Allen.
I was hoping for a more athletic big to be paired with Nurkic as I fully expect him to miss key games. We'll see what the next steps from here are.
For now, I'm relieved it's over. There were too many times watching Ayton last season just not give a shit, with little belief he'd be any different than who has has shown himself to be time and again.

Re: Ayton for Nurkic
Nurkic and Allen definitely add some funk to this team that only Book seemed to have.

You know Monty's calling Portland right now telling the coach to arrive a the airport with flowers, a PS5, a big bag of weed and a hug... Don't forget the hug, it's the most important part.
Re: Ayton for Nurkic
Book is definitely going to punch Allen in practice at some point this year.

Re: Ayton for Nurkic
Yikes. Ayton definitely had his issues, but I feel like he was worth more than this.
I was actually looking forward and interested in seeing how Ayton would respond under Vogel.

He does have a worrisome injury history. Maybe 50ish game but also healthy for the Playoffs?Cap wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 11:44 amYou mean play ~15 great games and then vanish?Wally_West wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 11:42 amQuestion: could Nurkic have an Aron Baynes type season for us???![]()

Re: Ayton for Nurkic
We need to trade Grayson back to Utah. He’s such a jazz player. Pretty much a clone of Ainge. Take back whatever they offer us.
Re: Ayton for Nurkic
You're not wrong and if you think about it... A lot of great teams had that one guy who'd just come in to rile guys up. Pistons had Mahorn and Laimbeer, Clippers had Pat Bev, Lakers had Pat Bev, the Spurs had... Well, the whole team during their winning era. The last real one we had was probably Raja.3TheHardaway wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 11:54 amIt's all about the mental framing!
We get to watch Grayson piss off other teams.
(I'm trying)

That or the Celtics... He's very Ainge'y.MightyMoog wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 11:56 amWe need to trade Grayson back to Utah. He’s such a jazz player. Pretty much a clone of Ainge. Take back whatever they offer us.
Re: Ayton for Nurkic
I bet INF will join me on being happy to land Allen lol. He looks like Ted Cruz and he's a total asshat, but he's a great shooter, and plays a very solid game.
