The second year has only $400,000 guaranteed. Low risk contract.

Agreed. Not a Fryelike release but it will do. This is reassuring as well.

My problem is not Tolliver at a stretch 4 spot. Its Tolliver playing center--which you know will happen.

Playing center? That'd be a real Tolliver Twist!

Not to mention the turnovers that would produce. We'd be treated to a barrage of Tolliver's Travels.

Not that high on the Tolliver signing. Suns need a guy that can rebound more so than shoot the 3-ball from outside.

So who is the starting PF now ? Markieff or Anthony Tolliver ?

Honestly they need both.

Jeff already said publicly that Keef is the starter.

So he's ready for bigtime ?

I don't know. :?:

I'm not sure what "ready for bigtime" means in this context. Markieff is good enough to start and give the Suns 12-14 ppg and 6-8 rpg. With him as a starter, I think the Suns could win 40-50 games.

He put up 14-6 as a bench guy, 17-8 doesnt seem outta reach.

Markieff had the best per-36 stats of any 6th man candidate in the league, and toward the end of last season, he was consistently featured in crunch-time lineups. He's ready to start.

The big question is how his traditional power forward skills are going to affect our spacing on offense. I have no doubt that Markieff will put up career numbers this year, but is it subtraction-by-addition?

If/when Ryan Anderson gets healthy I'd like to revisit those trade talks. Supposedly he'll be ready by training camp. I don't know if there's a deal to build, though. They have added Jimmer and already were guard heavy, but I guess they could use Green at the three.
