Really thought the physicality would be too much for him early, I was wrong. He's gonna be such a problem in a couple of years if he can stay healthy.

Remember when the spurs won those two games against us and everyone thought they might be a problem as early as this year? The nba fan in me really hopes the spurs can put a good team around him, but the suns fan in me hopes it takes a few years haha

If I'm reading the salary commitments right, the Pacers need to send back roughly $30M in salary to Toronto.

Just playing with the trade machine in deals with only Siakam going to Indy and the deal must involve Buddy Hield and 2/3 of Jarace Walker, Jalen Smith, and TJ McConnell.

There are other ways to get it done, but I can't imagine Indy moving a bigger piece if they're also including 3 first round picks.

Edit: Seems like Bruce Brown could be in the deal which also makes sense. I've just thought they'd try to offload Hield since he's been salty about his role for the past 6 months.

Crazy. You don’t give up three first round picks in a trade unless you’re assembling a championship contender. And Siakam, valuable as he is, doesn’t push Indy over the top. They’d still be #4 in the East.

"Over the top" is a unicorn shooting rainbows out of its ass in today's NBA.

I think this move definitely bumps them up a level in talent to compete with the top 3 teams in their conference.

Does Indy have extra 1sts? I think that changes things. 3 1sts is a lot for a guy that’s an expiring deal. They’d probably heavily protected

I checked and they do have the Thunder 1st this year(most likely as they get the worst of Thunder, Jazz, Rockets). So they’d only move 2 of their own

On its face they can probably get a good deal to acquire Siakam. But if he won't commit to staying there, it's a huge risk. He might leave them for nothing in the offseason. I'd stay away.

Of the teams that have capspace this summer - how many need him, how many are willing to spend money on him, and if they're bottom feeders will he want to go there. If the Pacers are willing to trade for him and give him a longterm deal, why wouldn't he re-sign?

Exactly. Not to mention they should be really good. He's going to re-sign with the Pacers.
