Bucks had a bunch of defensive mofos who could absolutely stifle the opposing team's offense. A lot of those guys are gone now, replaced by a mostly offense-only guard in Dame. If they can't stop anybody, Giannis + Dame's scoring isn't enough to get wins. In some ways they're similar to last year's Suns, a team hoping to outscore you but with an anemic offense and porous defense.

Ja Morant is so fun to watch. It's good to have him back. The Grizz are going to be hard to beat this year.
You think maybe Grant Williams is still pissed about being banished by the Celtics?
That’s gotta be one of the wimpiest flagrant twos I’ve seen. If you’re going to make such an unnecessary non-basketball play and basically force the refs to eject you, you should at least hurt the guy you’re targeting.

I think history and reputation had something to do with it. Grant Williams is known for hard unnecessary fouls like this, and he is also known to have "beef" with Tatum from their past years on the Celtics together. So the refs correctly saw it as Williams intentionally trying to take out Tatum with intent to do harm. I think it's okay to consider such things when giving punishment for hard fouls.

I’m not questioning the call. I’m asking why Williams didn’t hit harder if he was going to get himself thrown out of the game. Maybe the call surprised him.

Sounds like Joel Embiid may have slugged a reporter after the 76ers loss today?
