I like Tyus but he’s getting cooked defensively. I’d go with Dunn here.

Just didn’t stop the kings on a single possession. They got easy looks every time down

And our offense has been rubbish in OT - they’re scrapping hard but can’t get an easy shot like the Kings seem to every time down the court.

I feel like Book hasn't looked like Book since Monty was coaching the team. And Bud fked up tonight not playing Dunn more, especially down the stretch when DeRozan was hitting everything he looked at. Royce can't guard him.

Beal had it going all night really but didn't get enough shots and/or wasn't aggressive enough. We're passing up good looking 2pt shots to jack up 3s which is what the Kings want.

Also this team can't defend for shit. We let Fox and DD walk right into easy midrange 2s.

Frustrating Book game. Fox and DeRozen can do what they want offensively, getting to their spots all day, but everything is a struggle with Book offensively.

I think Beal defers to Booker too much. Booker goes into hero ball mode dribbling the ball out front and it bogs the offense down.

Book was trying to back down players on so many possessions - it’s a very taxing style of play and he looked cooked well before OT.
Generally with KD out everyone went up one rung on the ladder and no one really stepped up in that role, aside from maybe Beal and Plumlee perhaps.
Would have liked more Dunn late as well for his D. No one was hitting a shot so might as well put a defender in. Frustrating loss overall.

I'm hard as anyone on Book
The game was set up for him to close but he kept being a decoy, just driving to pass. Granted that worked most of the night as his assists would show but.....

I honestly think he's not over the illness
At no point I felt like he was ready to take over and go off. Looked like he was just trying to push through so I think I will hold off the heavy criticism tonight

Think the team played solid tho
Again, everyone called on from the bench impacted the game

The 4th quarter D was a little rough tho. It always puzzles me when teams don't switch up coverages. Can't just let a guy iso for 6-8mins straight staying home on shooters who by all reports have been inconsistent to start the season

We played as good as we could. No KD, we lost Nurk. I’m surprised Dunn wasn’t in there at the end but there’s a good chance he’s still just hurt tho. On to Utah.

Also, live by the jumper and die by the jumper. We missed a ton of 3s in the 1st half which bailed the Kings out. Get into the paint, attack the basket. The Kings can't guard us 1on1 either but we kept jacking 3s.

KD's bailed us out late in games up to this point. We're good enough to win without him but not playing this style. There's no reason Book can't do what DD did to us tonight. We've seen him do it. Get back to that. Allen and O'Neale are the shooters, Book and Beal are the scorers.

Outside of Jones, we shot 12 of 47 from three (25.5%).

Booker is not very bright, especially in the clutch. He missed 2 game winners tonight, and, as is his MO, he likes to take difficult 3 pt shots when we only need 1 or 2 pts to win. Last season when he made a game winner, the highlight reel had to go back to the bubble to show his prior game winner.

we've been winning close games for 3 reasons.

1. Durant can get off his shot on anyone.
2. Book has been deferring leadership to Durant, probably as per Bud's direction
3. We have a point guard on the floor to minimize Booker and Durant's fumbles.

Steve Kerr understood how best to use Booker -- in a support role. His assist numbers are good. But he's a border-line all-star being paid the supermax and he should never be making the decisions in the clutch. Bud needs to call plays. Even KD needs to adjust to plays rather than go one on one, but at least he takes good shots.

Booker should be traded to NY before the rest of the league figures out he's overpaid. And that he's a scorer, not a guy who wills a team to wins in the heat of battle like a dozen other stars. In fact, he too often gets sloppy when the going gets rough. The last time he really stood out, was the start of last season. Since then, he's seemed a little disconnected with the Suns.

I think you are underrating Booker there…border line all-star?

I love Book but he is a great, awesome 2nd guy/option 1b but not that great as a first option compared to others around the league. Middle third in the NBA as best player on the team, maybe?

DeMar and Fox cut us up all night long. We couldn't stop them.

Booker with 2 airball 3 pointers the past 5 minutes. JFC.
I don't know what's happened to him but he's lost his edge and his killer instinct. Not even looking to shoot it most of the time. Looking to pass it. Early in the game he forced Nurk to take a bad shot just because he wouldn't shoot it with the clock running low.

Ya I think that’s fair. 1b…3rd Team All-NBA type that might snag another 1st/2nd team or 2 during his career, but he’s really probably not quite that level.
