Well you’d be the exception then. Most fans are tuning out and not caring about the all-star game. Players take it less seriously than a summer pickup game.Mori Chu wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2024 4:42 pmIt's more that I care about the history of the ASG. I like East vs West. I like looking back on past years to see which conference was loaded, whether that team won the game, etc. I like seeing who tries to be the alpha, who guns for ASG MVP, and so on. I actually like the All-Star Game just fine as it was. I certainly don't think any of the many changes they've tried have helped, so why not leave it be?

It's pretty crazy that Hubie has still been calling games. And, though yeah he does sound a bit old on the broadcast, he's still "got it" and can analyze and assess the game in real-time. Amazing that he can still do that at age 91. What a legend.

Hubie is so old he was actually a head coach in the ABA for two years!
Frank Layden was his college roommate when he was at Niagara (1951 to 1955).
After a stint in the Army from 1956 to 1958, he played professionally in the Eastern League for the Rochester Colonels in 1958-59 (this was Elgin Baylor's rookie year, and a year before Wilt Chamberlain entered the NBA).

It's hard for me to imagine Doc Rivers in the Hall of Fame. I know it's for his coaching career, and...you know what? Imma make a thread for this, lol.
Re: Around the NBA: Week 9 (12/16 - 12/22)
Marc Gasoline for HOF? Seriously? Not that he wasn’t good, but this seems to be really diluting what the HOF means.

Full list of nominees - Tom Chambers, Penny, Amar'e are also eligible.

That was autocorrect, not intentional.

Karl Anthony Towns is a way better basketball player than Julius Randle, I knew that trade would nuke the Wolves.
Love, Hurts.

Re: Around the NBA: Week 9 (12/16 - 12/22)
Same, couldn't believe it when it happened. But apparently the main driver for the Wolves was economical as they are second overall in salary (behind us) and Randle has a player option for next year that everybody is assuming he'll decline, removing $30M from their books.
