Feels like this has been the case for a few weeks. I can't believe we haven't talked to his agent about potential deals, unless it's just some semantic thing where we haven't formally asked about a specific trade destination. I wouldn't expect him to OK a trade to Utah but I think we can guess where he'd want to go.

Solid analysis on what has happened to a once promising player. I think for any team hoping to salvage him, he should really be moved to being a big wing player instead of playing the 4. Also, I think he is mentally a lot like Joe Johnson was early in his career.

Huh. That is an interesting move. It's really fascinating that Utah made that deal; normally you would never want to trade three 1sts for one 1st, but they are looking at the shitshow that is this team and saying, "That pick is going to be really special." And we have taken the worse of each pick of 2-3 teams, so none of those picks is at all likely to be high in the 1st round. Probably we just traded a 22nd pick, a 19th pick, and a 27th pick for a 4th pick. Which might be a really good trade for Utah in the end.

Having the three future 1sts I guess gives us more flexibility for sweeteners for trades. Now we can trade, say, 1-2 of them for Jimmy but keep the remaining one. I don't like that, but I can see how it is more palatable to our FO than trading literally our last pick.

This is going to be a clusterf*ck (acknowledging that it is currently as well)

Trader Danny, you sly dog. Get that future top 3 pick for a bunch of mid to late 1sts.

I read that as special in the draft order - top three or whatever - rather than any particular prospects.

No telling what draft picks will be where over the next 7 years so it's whatever. This is all being driven by Ishbia, Jones is just doing what his boss wants. Jones won't be here when it all falls apart so he probably doesn't care.

Bud should be sweating tho. Once Jimmy's on the team I don't see him and KD doing anything Bud says.
