I like Goga, Toppin not so much. I don't think we should be giving up a first rounder if we are sending out Grayson in that scenario. I'd feel okay with that trade if at least a couple of seconds were on their way back, otherwise I think that's an overpay...

You guys are severely overrating Goga and Obi. They should be back-end rotation players.
Better than Nurk rotting on the bench and we definitely need size in the front court. I’d just caution high expectations, very much like Nick Richards.
What high expectations were placed upon Richards? We paid two 2ndR for him. Everybody knows he is questionable as a starter; more like upper tier backup. Obviously better than anything we had when our center rotation was Nurkic (corpse, unplayable), Plumlee (8-10mpg caliber) and Oso (2ndR rookie, nice project but not ready).
There were some very high expectations from some people when the trade happened and after his first game.
Maybe. Anyway, I think Toppin and Goga would be very good for us if it took Allen and one of the low 1stR we can trade now.

I don't think it would change much of anything, certainly not getting them a round further in the post season.
I would appreciate them addressing the clear weaknesses, so I don't hate it. Just meh.

Agreed; but they are solid pieces that can be part of the next project. I just believe the price of Allen and a low 1stR is low enough that, if actually on the table, you take it and just move forward with your main goals (again, as long as you don't intend to blow it all up including Booker).

I don't think anybody was predicting that Richards would be our savior. He has been very solid for us so far, a good addition to the team by trade. Not perfect, and clearly a poor fit in certain matchups. But much better than trying to play Plumlee 38 minutes. Nothing wrong with being happy with that. I myself have been pleasantly surprised by him.

It's looking like the favorite, Nurk dump, is probably going to be the move. But to who and for what?

Or…absolutely zero moves. Lol. We’re back to the James Jones philosophy of “continuity and internal improvement.”

I get the frustration with the FO not making moves but I don't think it's for lack of trying. No one was taking Beal and that was seemingly the sticking point in all negotiations. It's not like we turned down offers. Ishbia isn't ready to give up on the KD experiment and even in talks we were supposedly asking (rightfully) for a lot of assets back. Nurk is getting moved at some point today so we'll see what happens there.

Yep, Wednesday was a letdown for sure when Marty's favorite team got Butler. And us?....nothing still. And it will be minor at best if we do do something. (Heh, he said do do.)

Ishbia won't let that happen.

I guess we found out the hard way how much Beal's NTC was a show stopper.

Can he only waive it for a particular trade, or can he waive it permanently if he wants to go to a team that won’t accept his NTC?

Good question. However, it's moot if he wants to stay in Phoenix which it appears he does. Why not? They can all laugh it up on the bench, win or lose. No pressure.
