That's what happens when you get a good 1/1 draft pick.

I thought this was interesting, I guess I never really though of what “perks” the players get:
CBA 'Fun Facts' (Moving Expenses, Meal Allowance, Free Tix, etc.)
A lot is being made of the big items in the new CBA (aprons, minimum games requirements, etc.), but what about the random items that get included. Here are just a few:
Moving Expenses:
Teams that take on a player in a trade are responsible for that player's moving expenses to get to the new city. The player must submit the estimate to the new team ahead of time and provide receipts for reimbursement
Hotel allowance (trades)
When a player gets traded the new team must pay up to 46 days of a hotel for the player in the new city.
Housing cost reimbursement (trades)
When a player is traded, they can be reimbursed for housing expenses in their old city (i.e. mortgage or lease) for up to 3 months. This is subject to a maximum of $6k per month.
Meal Expense/Per Diem
When on the road, players get $156 per day for meals; however, like most per diems they can use this money for anything. Recently on the Dan Lebatard show Amin Elhassan talked about how several players would blow all of their road trip per diem gambling on the plane.
When they're on the road for only part of the day, they get a % of the per diem based on which meals they miss.
NBA players assigned to G league games gets the NBA per diem. A two-way player gets the G league per diem.
Mandatory training:
Players must participate in at least 1 media training session per season. $20k for failing to participate.
Players must participate in at least 1 "business of basketball" training program per season. $5k fine for failing to participate.
Players must participate in at least 1 "anti-gambling" training program per season. $100k fine for failing to participate.
Mandatory promotional activities:
During each year players must participate in at least 7 individual promotional appearances, with at least 2 of those being season ticket holder events.
During each year players must participate in at least 5 team or group promo appearances on behalf of the team
Mandatory "Mic'd Up" Requirements
Players can only be made to wear a microphone during a national and locally televised game once per month during the regular season but twice during each playoff series.
Travel & Hotel Arrangements
Teams must make a best efforts to obtain extra long beds for each player during road trips
Hotels must be first class
Each player must be given their own room
Players must be given first class flight tickets for any trip over 1 hour; however, the head coach can take one of these seats! If the head coach takes one of the first class seats then that player gets reimbursed for the difference between the first class ticket and the regular fare.
If a player refuses to pay incidentals at the end of a hotel stay, then they can be fined $100 for the first two times and a "reasonable amount" after that.
Free Tickets:
Players get 4 complimentary tickets per home game and 2 per road game. These tickets must be in the lower bowl but not on the floor or in a luxury suite. Any additional tix must be sold to the player.
If a player is caught selling those tickets, they are banned for further tickets.
Seat locations are given out based on seniority with most senior players getting the best seats.
League Pass:
Every player gets League Pass for free.

I'm at least a bit concerned the Suns will think PatBev can be a guy they think can help.

PatBev can go jump in a lake. Let the Lakers sign him.

Anybody watch All-Star Friday night? They had the Rising Stars tournament. Ryan Dunn's team won!

Yes, I thought it was fun and I liked the new format.
Re: Around the NBA: Week 17 (2/10 - 2/16)
I'm watching the final game right now. It cut out before the final game on YouTube TV last night but they added it back now. Cool to see Dunn lifting the trophy. I'm hoping that meant he had a great game in the final. Cool that they get to go on to All-Star Sunday and be part of the new playoffs. We have an all-star after all other than Durant.

Dunn is why I am not completely despairing about the state of this Suns team. If we can find guys like him, we can rebuild this team. Having Book and Dunn as a start of a core is still a great leg up on a rebuild.

Dunn ain't no core piece. Sorry. Hes a good rotational piece. Having a 5th starter potential guy ain't giving me no hope. He ain't no Amen Thompson

I don’t like him at all, but we could use some of his attitude right now.
