Huge OT win for the Nuggets. They came way back after being down for almost the entire game. Credit to Russell Westbrook for playing a big positive role for them and giving them great hustle and energy. Jokic with 29/12/9, crazy.
Both teams are super top-heavy. The Nuggets played only 8 guys, one of them for only 5 minutes. Reminds me of the SSOL Suns. Clips played 9 guys but only Batum really made any impact, and even he had only 9 points.

Could you imagine Detroit with an offense(hint, hint)?
They are prey if we play it correctly

Having zero NBA-level big men is working about as well for the Lakers as it did for the Suns last year against Minnesota.

Lakers are going to be exposed in this playoffs. Luka and Lebron are both great, and Reaves is also a great role player, and they have some other nice miscellaneous guys on their roster. But their bigs are atrocious and they have had some good defensive numbers since the trade that I don't think will hold up in the playoffs.
Honestly, in some ways they are like us, in the sense of having two big stars eating up big cap space who are very similar in their strengths, almost to a fault. But they have some advantages over our situation, in that both of their top stars are great facilitators, one of them is essentially the 1A GOAT NBA player, they don't have a third max albatross contract on their books, and they haven't given away quite a decade's worth of their draft picks (though they have given up several in their original trade to get AD and some other moves). They have a cleaner cap sheet than us, less flaws in their top stars, and a better stack of future picks and assets.

The problem for the Lakers is that in the playoffs you get to prepare for unconvential teams better and if you have a deficiency like they do in the frontcourt teams will hammer away at it until you crack.

Good games so far. Clippers-Nuggets was really good and should be a good series. I feel like I'm always waiting for Kawhi to limp off the court. Can't trust him.
Pistons folded down the stretch. Played well most of the game but the Knicks did the thing of hanging around and then dominated the 4th.
Agree that the Lakers will struggle against the Wolves' frontline like we did but they'll address it in the offseason. There is a big who could be a good fit and will likely be available this summer....

Lowkey the other guy to watch for in terms of limping off the court is Jalen Brunson. He rolled his ankle in Game 1 and seemed less than 100%. Love Brunson but I hope he'll be able to play and stay healthy for the series. Knicks would be in real trouble if he's out for an extended period.

Why is Mikal so bad in NY?
Is it him being relegated to the corner?
Is he washed?
I always felt his defense was overrated a bit like Trix's. They're above average defenders with length who get some stocks but they're not lock down defenders the way Bruce Bowen, Draymond green and other elite defenders were

I will always wonder what our team would have looked like if we had just kept the roster we had on July 1, 2023. Payne always rises to the occasion in the playoffs—even as a starting PG. Payne/Beal/Booker/Durant/Ayton was the lineup Vogel was talking about starting, but never got a chance to.

Halftime of Clips/Nuggets. Clips up by 3. Denver has to be a little bit worried about this matchup. They barely clawed out a win in Game 1 with some OT heroics, but it depended on a lot of 50/50 situations bouncing their way, and on Russell Westbrook hitting a clutch 3 with the game on the line. LAC has been giving them everything they can handle.

Clips head home with the split, and they looked scary in both games. Denver is in a bad spot I think. I picked them to win that series, but if Kawhi stays healthy, I'm probably wrong.
