I'm hoping we don't give up on Dunn. He's still just a 2nd year player, brings the energy and athleticism we need and is a really good individual defender. I'd rather see him starting with a lineup of Book, Green, and Brooks rather than Allen because we're too undersized with four 6-5 guys and a center out there. if we run Book, Green, Brooks, Dunn, Williams with CG, Allen, Royce, Oso/Richards I think we'll have better depth and balance all around.

He's a fringe rotation player in this league. Sorry, it's the truth no matter how much you guys want him to be a core piece. We can waste 5 years hoping for it to be different, but it won't be.

Wow. For a doctor, you certainly have no patients [sic].

Dude it's just like all the other young guys who didn't make the leap from their first offseason and we continued this false hope. He's just not that good. It's more a product of our desperation than his actual talent level. If our team was half good or we had better prospects, we wouldn't think twice about him. We better hope Jalen Green gets there at least he has the raw talent

I couldn't agree more. It's nothing against him as he seems like a good kid, but is he not just Okogie in a bigger body? We moaned about his lack of offence and the need for him to develop a reliable shot to warrant a starting spot and it never happened. I don't see Dunn any differently. We knew the offensive skillset was questionable when we drafted him and can we honestly say it's improved? I hope he proves me wrong but I just see him as instant energy/defence off the bench at this stage.

Alright I'm just going to say it again just to make 'Bones balls twist a bit, this team is going to be stuck in a very dark place for many years unless they bite the bullet and trade Booker for assets before he loses his franchise-altering trade value. There is no other path to improvement and they did this to themselves

Hey, my balls are loose as hell.

Nah, gotta wait until Book's value is gone. That's the Suns way. See Deandre Ayton.

I think you guys are making your assessment way too fast. We're not even five games into the season yet.

That's fair, although my assessment is based on what we saw throughout last season too. It's feasible that Ott can get more out of him this season and, I hope he can, but it hasn't looked that promising in the first 4 games.

Even if he is "Okogie in a bigger body", the fact that he's 6-8 220 gives him more value as a defender than 6-4 Okogie IMO.

The thing I think about is, it can take most of a decade to build a good team even if you DO have your own 1st round draft picks. Like think of the Suns after we traded away Barkley, or after we traded Nash. We have had to rebuild many times before. You bottom out, you get lottery picks, you rebuild slowly with young players and hopefully you hit on some of your lottery picks. We are going to bottom out but NOT have any lottery picks until 2032. My kids are going to be in college before we have the basic asset pipeline in place to be a good team again. Regardless of whether you think this year's team is horrid or just mediocre, the future is quite deeply concerning and we really don't have the means to rebuild for almost a decade to come. We're currently looking at having a late-1st or no-1st every year for the next six seasons and watching as other teams use our lottery picks to draft talented young players that should have been ours, but we pissed all the picks away to go "all in" on the 36 Unbothered era.
I will always love my Suns, but I just can't see any way around the fact that we are well and truly fucked for most of a decade to come. I don't think we are going to be good for a really, really long time.

CG, Book, Brooks, ?, Williams is the kind of lineup that can get you a play-in spot. Allen, Dunn, Richards off the bench, maybe Goodwin. We just need a playable 4.

Yes, if "?" is "Giannis".

  j/k, sort of.

Dunn isn’t some franchise cornerstone, but I think calling him a fringe rotation player isn’t fair. I haven’t watched every game, but he was the only bright spot about the first half of the Kings game.
His numbers are all up so far over last year, but I’m also not going to judge the leap he made after 4 games. I’m certainly not taking anything based on 10 3pt attempts. I think so far his rebounding seems like the biggest change. He’s been more active defensively as well. We need more time to see what the shot is going to be, but I wasn’t expecting him to all of a sudden be an on ball offensive player.
There’s probably a few teams he wouldn’t play on, but I think he’s a rotation player on 25 teams. That’s not fringe to me. Though looking at him as anything more than a 4th/5th starter in the future is setting yourself up to be disappointed. I don’t think the offense will ever get to a point where he can be a cornerstone.

At this rate Booker's going to get dumped again by Kendall Jenner.
