To be sure, the league should come down hard on players that start, escalate, or otherwise participate in fights. But the league is pretty inconsistent with how it doles out punishment. There are multiple players in the league who have done awful, even criminal things, such as domestic violence, beating up their wives or girlfriends, horrible stuff, who can come right back out on the court and play. And you have some guys in big betting / rigging scandals whose status is still uncertain with no updates or announcements. I'm not really sure what sort of standards of conduct the league thinks it is upholding.
I agree there are some iffy issues, but gambling absolutely needs to be a gone from the league scenario. At least in the case where guys are actively throwing games and/or prop bets(or whatever you call the individual stat bets).
Also if you’re referring to Miles Bridges, I wouldn’t have had a problem if the league really came down on him for the domestic violence stuff, but he did miss an entire season and then served a suspension(though it was shortened because he missed the prior season). Also a guy like Ja Morant served some significant suspensions…I don’t think the nba is turning a blind eye to that kind of stuff, even if they could come down harder.
My instincts said 5 for Stew, 3 for Duren, Diabate and Bridges so a bit surprised to see Diabate with more games than Duren, who made actual hand to face contact. Diabate lost his mind and while it's not excusable I think it's understandable. Miles threw a shot and escalated, Stew is crazy and has a history of this sort of stuff.
Duren made hand to face contact, but it was pushing away Diabate who was shoving his face into Duren. I honestly wouldn’t have suspended Duren at all…maybe 1 token game for the half swing he threw at Bridges who swung first.
I wouldn’t mind a flyer on him…there’s not a huge opportunity here though and he’d be another player we’d need to pay and we wouldn’t have bird rights.
Let's go get him! I kind of doubt he would come here because if his agent is smart he'll see that we don't really have space to re-sign him this summer.
I like the idea of Sochan better than the reality. He has only been healthy for one season, and he hasn't really improved in his 4 years. If some team can unlock his potential, they will have a great player. But right now, most Spurs fans don't seem bothered to let him go.
