I could see us standing pat the rest of the season after this one.

I'd still explore what some combination of Tucker, Green, IT and Plumlee (and picks) would bring in, but I don't think McDonough will make another move unless a really great opportunity presents itself.

Nice move. Like others have already said, I'm interested to see what happens to the rotation.

6'9 PF? Why do they always have to be small. :)
He looks pretty lengthy to me.

He's looong. Super efficient. Routinely among the league leaders in PER because of his shot selection (lots of dunks) and lack of TOs. Pretty good, but not great defender. Solid shot blocker. Very solid offensive rebounder, but not great as a defensive rebounder (of course). 179th in the league in defensive rebounding rate.

I do wonder what it'll do to our rotation. I like Wright and his ability to defend but it just creates more of a logjam. We have to shake this roster out.

Importantly, we could play him next to either Kieff or Len. Blocks shots at a rate similar to Plumlee, though apparently not the rebounder Plum is. Much better offensively, however.

I'm okay with seeing Plumlee get less minutes. Am I in the minority with this?

Yea he can definitely be a 4/5 similar, next to Len or Markeiff. Very long, athletic and can hit the 15footer. He's more a matchup guy in most cases thought. Can't really bang.

Really odd choice of music for a highlight clip.

Seems like a solid backup. Two second round picks seems pretty cheap.

I wonder if something else is in the works. If he takes the minutes behind Kieff that means they won't be there for our 3's to split up.

I think of him as sort of a poor man's 6'9" Tyson Chandler. That's not a perfect comparison, but a lot of what Shabazz said is dead on. He's tall enough to play PF and has really long arms, so he just takes up space and disrupts/blocks shots really well for his position. He's a perfect role player in the sense that he doesn't try to do too much on offense. He mostly just catches the ball when he's fastbreaking or rolling to the basket and lays it in or dunks it. I'm sure his shot chart is a mob of dots from 5' or less and very little outside of that. He isn't a spectacular rebounder but he's decent. His stats won't blow you away (7.5 pts, 3.6 reb, 1.3 blocks) but his PER is a healthy 24.3 and he does all of the preceding in around 17 minutes a game.

I *LOVE* this move. I think he's exactly the kind of player we need. Understands his role really well, plays hard, gives us a bit of defense and shot-blocking and rebounding, won't gripe about not starting, has played on a winning team (Dallas), he's about the right age, just knows what he's doing; a good veteran presence without being washed up. A very efficient player you can just put out there for 15-20 minutes and he'll do a lot of little good things. Way way better than some lug like Shavlik out on the floor. This is exactly the kind of move we need to solidify our team and our bench to get closer to being a contender.

Great job, Suns FO! #McdoIN #HelloMcD

6-10. Long, very efficient (dunks primarily), shot blocker, rebounder, defensive. PF/C. Makes Plumlee expendable.

Suns mobile app just updated and said they just used the Minny pick, nothing else. The earlier article said it was our 2nd rounder and the Minny pick.

I think it was saying the Minny pick converts into two second rounders.

He is a free agent after this year. So it could end up being a short rental.

I was impressed with him last time we played Dallas. I'm interested to see his integration.

Suns will probably have to waive Warren or Ennis now when they offer Jermaine O'Neal the max.

6-10 but only 210 pounds according to ESPN? That's old info, right?

Yes. He's now 7-1, 300 pounds. Kidding but he now weighs more than 210.
