dont worry, knight is an upgrade according to analytics
In Knight, the Suns are getting an upgrade over Goran Dragic -- who Phoenix dealt to the Heat on Thursday -- by most measures. Knight is averaging more points and assists per game this season, with a higher player efficiency rating and more win shares than Dragic, according to ESPN's Stats & Information.
That grade for Miami is way low. They undeniably made a huge improvement to a position of major weakness (PG) for them. I think it gives them arguably one of the top-4 rosters in the East, if you assume that Hassan Whiteside is going to stay a stud through the remainder of the season.
Bill Simmons: I am making this point for the second time this week: Dragic was the fourth-best guard in basketball last season. I voted him second-team All-NBA. There were legitimate reasons why his numbers dropped this year that had nothing to do with him and everything to do with the bizarre but lovable roster that Phoenix slapped together. Miami becomes a title contender if it can get him without touching its top four … at least until we remember that Dwyane Wade couldn’t play 38 MPG for four straight rounds

Which one of these players is Dragic better than?
Westbrook
Curry
Paul
Wall
Lillard
Irving
Lowry
Conley
I guess one could say the last 3, but that may be a homer POV. I also didn't mention Teague, Rose, Parker, Norris Cole, Lawson, etc.
curry clearly better. former mvp candidate paul has the reputation and has recovered from his knee injury. a lot of people would say westbrook is better but i prefer dragic's better bball iq and pg skills. i preferred harden to handle the ball over westbrook too when they were playing together.
of course you cant compare dragic's stats this season to the rest when he barely played lead PG at all and was just a spot up shooter (not his strength). but when he played the lead guard last season, he was CLEARLY better than inefficient volume shooters like lillard, wall, irving, and slightly better than lowry and conley.
Conley was way underratted. He isn't flashy but he is one of my favorite players in the league. I'd probabaly rather have him then Dragon, although I do think people underrate Dragic too.
The grade for the Heat is because I don't think this guy is saying its a slam dunk he resigns in Miami, If the Heat lose him this summer then the trade is an absolute F for them. Everyone ie assuming he'll re-sign there, but who knows maybe Zoran wwill think he's better then Wade and Goran will get mad.
“Kobe had said (after the play) I wasn’t hugged enough as a child,” Bell recalled. “My mom kind of found him after the instance and we had beat them and offered him a hug in the bowels of the Phoenix arena. She really feels a part of that story.”

signing zoran was DUMB move on mcdo's part especially if you have no plans to use him (or if you know the guard position is overcrowded), no matter what goran says. #assetaccumulation

Dragic after last season, with Bledsoe on the team: I will break my contract, sign a new one and then be calm (or something to that effect, I'm sure we all remember those words). And if I remember correctly, you were saying McD would trade him because he was not his guy. He has been traded indeed, but the reasons couldn't be more opposite. Do you really believe he would have demanded a trade if IT3 wasn't signed?
Anyway, it's all moot.
Yep, IT3 was the Jenga block that made it all come tumbling down.
I think it is a lack of Jenga blocks that make it come crashing down.

one thing that dragic does better than anybody else on that list other than tony parker is the ability to make contested baskets. and he (not tony) may be the best at taking it strong and converting against the nba's best shotblocking big men (davis, hibbert, chandler)

So he's the 3rd best PG in the league. Got it.
Also, I'm not sure you know what efficient means.
how effective is lillard's shot making vs the average defense?
as a player, westbrook is slightly better. but as a pg, dragic obviously better. and i prefer my pgs to make sound basketball decisions. westbrook is a better shooting guard than dragic though (who played most of the year at sg).

Yea its hard to hate the dragon, even after what he did in the media which was unprofessional IMO.
I think what he did yesterday was wrong and a poor decision on his part and he is kinda admitting that here saying his words came out harsher then he intended.
That being said I have no problem rooting for him in Miami. Its alot easier then rooting for him in NY and GASP LA!

Funny, I read it as a lame PR spinning tirade. He stab a knife in the form of "I don't trust them anymore" then this?
Please, be a man Goran and own your words. You did everything on your hand to force a trade, don't come to us now with this BS. And the last tweet reinforce my notion that this is damage control trying to keep some fans to follow him to Miami... And it looks like it's working already.
I use to apreciate you, now I despise you... Good riddance two faces dragon.

Definitely Lowry. I'd take him over Lillard. Wall's shooting and ball control is too shaky for me. Chris Paul is clearly a superior talent, but I don't believe you can win with him. Conley is more complete than Dragic, but I think Dragic can be more of an assassin on offense than Conley. Irving has taken a huge leap this year, but his defense and playmaking are still questionable.

Really? He got what he wanted. But yeah, it was unprofessional. Unfortunately, if he had remained professional, the Suns probably wouldn't have agreed to trade him.
