A few things. Among them:

- Ingram's strengths allow him to play with any lineup, while it seems like you need a specific type of team built around Simmon's.
- Ingram's weaknesses (size, strength) seem more easily correctable than Simmon's (can't shoot).
- All the weird reports surrounding Simmons this year and the people questioning his work ethic/alpha dog-ness.
- Ingram is a full year younger.

Even with all that, I'm still not sure. Simmons has some special talents.

As much as I dislike Rich Paul, he sure seems to do well for his clients. Why would you not hire the guy if you needed an agent?

Hahah. But seriously. Add muscle. Switch to the position that allows you to get advantage of what you have. Height and reach won't change but Ingrams' problem is that he looks like a stick, and you won't last like that in the NBA (see Austin Daye, Zarko and many others) unless you are ungodly talented like Durant (who despite being skinny is a crazy specimen on his own anyways).

In this instance I'm curious why you'd hire him for your rookie deal. For Simmons it is a no-brainer that he's going top 2. I would think you'd want an agent that is experienced in the draft process. I guess I'm not sure what Paul can offer a guy about to be drafted. Also, have we seen any Eric Bledsoe tv commercials?

No, nor should we expect to, no matter who's his agent. He's an uncharismatic, mediocre player on a bad small-market team. Why would sponsors be interested?

I am not sure the agent makes a huge difference for a top 2-3 pick, but it doesn't cost him any more or less to go with Klutch, right? I thought agent cuts were pretty standard. If you see a guy getting near max-deals for mediocre guys coming off rookie deals, you probably want that guy lobbying for you well before your free agency.

I would say sooner than that. Vince Carter, Dwayne Wade, Kobe Bryant just to throw some names, were power brokers in their hey days, making franchises besides their own, to kneel down to them. But even Bryant had to eventually come to terms with this power dissapearing long before retirement. LBJ could be another Kobe, as long as he stays in Cleveland, but Paul will be just "another agent" in about 3 years, unless he finds the next big thing's tail to ride, and thats why they are riding so hard the wave.

Right now, I really hope that Dragan Bender falls to the Suns. I'm worried that the Celtics will take him. At 13, there are a few players that I wouldn't mind seeing. Denzel Valentine kind of reminds me of a cross between Brandon Roy and Jared Dudley. High basketball IQ, a lot of skills, leadership, but not as athletic as Roy. Smart and mature players tend to contribute and last in the NBA. At 28, swing for the fences, go with a project that could turn out to be outstanding.

I'm hoping the Celtics take Murray.

I hope Bender is in play at 4 for either the suns or to make our pick more enticing for a trade. At #13 I like Deyonta Davis, although I think as the draft process moves along he won't be there. Valentine is an option but he may go higher too. Little Sabonis is someone who is projectd to go lower but could be a consideration.

Sabonis at 4 and Valentine at 13.

I would be ecstatic if we got Sabonis. Bender also looks intriguing but I thought maybe we would lose out on him to the Celtics.
