Canaan sucks IMO. The fact that we're looking to him to steady things and play major minutes is a complete indictment on McD and his handling of the PG position. I'm not sure Canaan even belongs on a roster.
He is the best point guard on the roster.
Debatable. Canaan stinks.

Talk about damning with faint praise.

I don’t want anyone else that is having to fight for a roster spot on an NBA team. We have enough of those players.
I'll take anyone who could be better than what we already have.

I don't think it is. Melton and Okobo clearly have more upside, but Okobo is raw and Melton may not actually be a point guard. Right now, no matter how much people think he stinks, he played the best last season and he has played the best so far in the preseason.

Canaan has played the best so far in the preseason? Melton has the best numbers. Canaan has only played 1 game right? I haven't been following much beyond Ayton so I could be wrong.

Yes, Canaan has only played once so far in the preseason.

I thought Shaq was better than Canaan last season. Canaan started well, but started to fade before his injury.

Last year's pre-injury Canaan is better than any PG on our current roster. I hope he can still be that player. I want him to get some minutes to see what he's got.
Of the four PGs I'm coolest on Harrison and Melton. In Melton's case it's not that I dislike him as a player, I just don't think he's a PG; more of a bench microwave. Which is fine, but then we should play him that way, not as a PG. Okobo also might not be a PG but I am not sure yet. In Melton's case, when I watch him play, I just don't see a PG at all in terms of running an offense or setting guys up.

I’ve very discouraged by that quote, because being easily discouraged is a character flaw that’s not easily corrected.

The players need a kick in the ass and I like that Igor is calling this BS out early. Triano was easy going and Watson would've made excuses for the players and coddled them. We're not playing with any urgency. Each team we've played has looked a step quicker than us on both sides of the ball.

History won’t look back kindly on the Bagley pick
That is probably more of an indictment on how bad the Kings are for any player taken, than on Bagley.

Yup. No more hand holding. This is a professional league. Players need to be held accountable.

Point taken, but I think Bagley would disappoint in a vacuum, regardless of the Kings effect. Could also be wishful thinking on my part.

Not many players would excel in a vacuum. If you think it was tough to breathe in Flagstaff, try it in a vacuum.

Ayton looked extremely impressive up close and in person. The whole flow of the game changes when he enters, and the offensive spacing improves dramatically. He is an amazing teammate, but he’ll probably need to learn to be more selfish in demanding the ball at some point.
I think it is clear by now, however, that we do not have a point guard on our roster. We need one. By the 17th.
