I'm not going to quote that whole long thing anymore, but sure, I'm the strawman who comes up with actual scenarios that could play out while almost everyone just complains when something doesn't work. It's BS arm-chair quarterbacking at best.

I’ll just point out that the suns points per possession on post ups is not good in this series. Most of that is because we’ve turned it over trying to get it to Ayton. We are 5/11 with 2 turnovers. 10 points on 13 possessions. That’s not good.
Also shows the suns are in fact running plays. Even still ISO plays are our 4th most efficient play type, so there’s a reason we utilize it.

Maybe someone should put the controller down and practice soft hands drills every day.

They're not good on post ups because when Ayton has his best positions they don't even try to get it to him, like I said. Anyway, this is a much bigger issue than Ayton's offense (although getting him shots becomes more important now with CP3 out).
I would like to see the ISO numbers from that last 4th quarter. I didn't say the Suns aren't running any plays. I questioned (in an exaggerated manner, yes) whether Monty is calling the plays, or drawing anything up in the 4th quarter. I feel like he relies on Chris Paul way too much.

I don't believe the ball has gotten anywhere near his hands on most of the turnovers lately.

If true, not anymore.

Post ups just aren’t worth it. Too high of a turnover risk and Ayton doesn’t draw fouls. He has to hit that shot at like 65-70% to make it efficient. If nothing else is working, sure go to it. If he has a small on him, go for it. But Bruce Brown I think was the one getting around Ayton and knocking the ball away on the entry passes.

I think 12 points on 25% shooting outside of Ayton in the 4th quarter qualifies as "nothing else is working."

JeremyG will probably end up being right on this one. But, if you predict "the coach will be fired" you will be right a lot of the time.

I really don’t think Monty is getting fired. Kinda surprised so many think that’s almost a given. That’s an overreaction to one game. We were outmatched this whole series. Not enough talent. That’s what I thought before the playoffs and it’s what I believe now. I’m not going to fire Month because he failed to win with Jock Landale, Landry Shamet, and Cam Payne starting an elimination game. Give him an actual roster built around KD/Book and a whole offseason/training camp/regular season to figure out how to play them. If we lose in round 2 again next year then we can talk new coach.

I think Monty stays unless Book decides otherwise.

Even though Monty has his shortcomings, I think you would be hard pressed to find a better replacement.
This.
I feel similarly with Budenholzer and Milwaukee. The only difference is that Budenholzer was on the verge of being fired the year they beat us. They literally had to win it all for him to keep his job. But since he did win it all, it feels a little silly to fire him two years later when the team is largely the same.

Not always. Some coaches get to retire after decades on the job, like Pop will likely be doing soon.
He’s a huge exception. Monty is already top 10 in longest tenured coaches. Only 4 head coaches have been with their teams 5 years(Pop, Spo, Kerr, Malone)
So you're actually making my point for me? That Monty is unlikely to be around for more than another year or two?
One more underachieving season and he will see how unforgiving this league is.
Nah, your point is he’s no good and lost the team and will get fired.
I think it's likely by the end of this season, yes. (Mainly because I expect another underachieving season.)

It’s really not controversial. Im pretty sure it’s you and then everybody else. Lol.
It's only a matter of time before everybody else joins me.

Also, I really don't think Nick Nurse is the answer.
Also, Durant mentioned in the press conference tonight how he enjoys playing for Monty.

I don't think Monty is on the block as much as Jones will be. Ishbia drove the KD trade home, he's buddy buddy with Zeke(yuck) so I can see them 2 talking about what to do next.

I’m not sure Jones will be out completely. He was recently promoted so we might see an Ishbia guy come in under him in the same way Jones did under McD.
I didn’t think Monty would be fired before the next season when this poll went up and I still don’t.
