That risk was already there. They are a couple of games above .500 and no clear way to get significantly better.

Exactly, and now they added the most erratic guy in the league.

It could work out, but it's a much riskier move than I think they needed to make. Very Mark Cuban.

Edit: I think it's going to look very promising this season because Kyrie is playing for a new contract. All bets are off once that next deal is signed and is when the risk comes into play.

I would only do that trade before the deadline just to go all in for this year with CP3, etc. I ain't doing it for next season when KD is a year older with an injury history.

FVV, but I wouldn't go beyond the rumored deal to the Nets, and I'm not even sure I like giving up a first round pick.

I don’t think I’d be down trading Chris for FVV. Prefer to trade for him and just run a 3 guard rotation of Paul/Book/FVV, especially since there’s no guarantee that FVV won’t leave and his down year is the new normal for him.
