True, but not having the self control to turn them off and take care of yourself physically is a problem. At the very least, thinking that’s something you should share publicly a matter of weeks before you become a free agent shows some judgement issues as well.

Iffe gone, as he wasn't offered a contract. Literally, what TF is mgt doing? No draft pick, they didn't keep a player that might have given them some help in managing their wing situation if we end up losing some people in the Ayton mess...etc. Sorry, feels to me like we screwed the pooch on that...
Iffe may not be an NBA-level player, but I agree that this seems really poorly handled. It also is another sign of a lack of patience. Very discouraging.

The Suns front office has been a clown show for most of the time since the end of the 2021 Finals.
Explain.
Jalen Smith fiasco.

DeAndre Ayton free agency fiasco

Signing Lundburg to a two-way contract and hyping him although his chances of making any impact were minimal

Failure to make a significant trade at the trade deadline

Playoff collapse and apology

Kevin Durant negotiations
I think what is missing from that list is the failure to add someone with size that can play next to Ayton. It's like James Jones learned nothing watching Brook Lopez and Giannis play together and wreak havoc on us.

It’s also missing the part where we set the franchise record for wins…it’s easy to find all the little things they did wrong, but they also did a lot right. I think how it ended is making us look differently on the season as a whole.

Well it was a list of what has gone wrong, so no, it isn't missing that. :P

But I get what you're doing, and I don't think anyone is disputing it was a great regular season. But how it ended matters. A LOT.

Fair, I guess my point is it’s easier to see in hindsight. For most of the regular season it seemed like we had done everything right. How it ended just contrasted so bad with how the season went that my brain finds it easier to call it a fluke. Now I don’t think it’s completely a fluke, but it still just doesn’t make sense in my head. I still think something was going on that we aren’t privy to.

Ok 'Shel'
The above tweet made me laugh smh. Twitter...... 🤦🏾‍♂️

As for Book, that cover is super cool for sure 🔥 but still is a pain in the ass that anything on social media comes with the constant reminder of the Mavs debacle.
Haters just be flooding the comments
Who cares? Haters gonna hate.

Surely Ish is coming back right ?

The tweet just reminds me man's a good dude to pull for but even basketball wise...
After being clearly afraid to even shoot when first getting some rotation minutes I think he was doing a solid job whenever he got on the court.

Plus he consistently does his thing for the national team so I feel there could be a role for him

“It was like a burden that lifted up, not saying I had a burden in Phoenix,” Smith said.

[...]

“Any place you go and you feel like you’re loved, you’re always going to have a joyous feel to you,” Smith said. “It’s just amazing to be welcomed after being traded and after everybody giving me that confidence boost.

It sounds to me like he felt a burden in Phoenix. Imagine how much worse it is for Ayton.

The lack of patience on the Suns' part, especially for developing bigs, is frustrating.

Boo-fucking-hoo

Such a burden being in Phoenix for Devin Booker, Mikal Bridges, Cam Payne, Cam Johnson, etc.

Few things signal "NBA loser" more than putting blame on others for your own short comings.

He just explicitly said "not saying I had a burden in Phoenix" and you interpret that as him feeling a burden in Phoenix. OK. Got it.

You should always feel a burden to improve yourself and get better. Otherwise, you're a slacker. But Smith didn't blame Phoenix.

There really isn't any blame he is assigning.

Exactly, 'bone. And Smith did improve. He was playing well when Ayton went down.

That's like saying "No offense..." or "Not to brag..." Read between the lines. He didn't feel loved, appreciated, needed a confidence boost.

Agreed. My comment was about the absurd shift of relating a uncontroversial comment into evidence of the Suns being Ayton's downfall.

I was one of the few around here who was still sticking up for Jalen Smith a year ago during Summer League. Nearly everyone was calling him a bust who shouldn't be in the league.

I think even I was out on him. Granted, I think it was the right move at the time to bring in Holiday and Craig. It felt like we were recovering from letting Craig walk and getting someone ti fill in for Payne’s absence.
In retrospect, Monty needs to build a better integrative rotation in the regular season building trust with his 10-12 players and rookies. Finishing number one isn’t as important as building confidence in your entire rotation. They over relieved on Book and CP3 in the 4th.
