It's ridiculous. I totally get Drummond at 5 years 130mil but not Batum at 5 years 120. That's where the scale gets messed up.

Batum is very good. I'd rather pay him 120/5 than Derozan 140/5 or mozgov at 65/4.

Other than the Suns need to make sure they are at the salary floor, I think it's good that all the other teams are throwing ridiculous money at mediocre players. Helps the Suns out if they stay disciplined in the long run.

Meh. Batum's a 3rd option.

$24M a year for what he does? No. Way.

This. At least Derozen is a 1st option.

O.J. Mayo has been given a two-year suspension for violating the league's drug policy.

Actually he was dismissed from the NBA entirely. He can apply for reinstatement in 2 years but it is not guaranteed.

I think this is the first "lifetime" ban since Birdman isn't it?

Scoring isn't everything, draymond green is also a 3rd option. Batum does everything well. 15/6/6, stretches the floor and plays defense. I'd take him every day over Derozan.

Draymond plays almost every position. Batum is just kind of there as a do-everything-ok SF.

It is either amphetamines, opiates, cocaine, LSD, or PCP. He probably cost himself $30M-$40M.

Correct.
Anderson had a lifetime ban with possibility of reinstatement after two years.
He successfully applied for reinstatement.

He's a better than OK passer. Agree that he's not a star.

https://twitter.com/APkrawczynski/status/748939814775365632 Bayless just got 3/27 from Philly. For those of you hoping that would be a Knight destination I think your hopes were just dashed.

With the money that is being thrown around, and how little the rookies are getting, what is the chance that many of the best college players just wait a year to come to the NBA because of a possible new CBA? As they could make more money if they wait a year.

Good question. One we won't have an answer to until this time next year. If the lockout happens in the Summer I would think their contracts would fall under whatever the new CBA allows. I could see players being drafted but not signing their contracts right away.
