I would be thrilled at that number. I’ve got 35% as my barometer. If he’s above I’ll be happy, if below I’ll be dissapointed. That’s speaking just to his shooting. I’m not saying he has to shoot 35% for me to be happy with his signing.

I am more worried about his 3PA than his percentage. I think if he gets up 5-6 a game in 25 minutes, his percentages will be there. And that will keep the defenses honest. And if a defense has to even think about guarding Crowder at the 3 point line with Booker, CP3 and Ayton on the court (probably with Mikal), that is a huge win for the Suns.

Boston had something special going that year. IT, Crowder, and Avery Bradley all put up career years. Olyenik was good for them, and I honestly think All Horford should have gotten MVP votes.

I hope we have something special this year. Of course, it's preseason and the vibes are high and it feels this way. I just hope it all comes together like I'm envisioning and how Jones envisioned.

Good article here, season predictions from some interwebs experts. Thoughts on the Suns offseason, where a Book/CP3 backcourt ranks in the league, favorite offseason move, and realistic expectations for the team.

Seems like the Suns haven't started scrimmaging yet. Monty said that would come later in the week.
I guarantee 5-on-5 by EOD Saturday.

Is it weird they haven't started scrimmaging? Saturday is the first game, Ayton hasn't played with Paul yet apparently...I trust Monty and the team at this point especially with a shortened camp. He'll get them going over the 4 preseason games probably similarly to how we got ready in the bubble. CP is smart enough to figure things out with the rest of the group during gameplay.

It is weird, but remember that there are CBA rules dictating what kind of work teams can do in the preseason. I have full confidence Monty is working the team as hard as the rules allow.

Every other team is essentially in the same spot as we are, so I’m not worried. Also, Saturday is the first preseason game, so not one that actually counts.

The Suns' free throw percentage of 83.4% was the best mark in NBA history. Devin Booker's 91.9% (468-for-509) was the best mark for a player with at least 500 free throw attempts in NBA history.

And we might break that mark again this year

Booker's FT game is tremendous. He's just special.

The rest of the team shot a combined .798. That's still good for 5th in the league.

We lost 3 of our top 5 FTA/G guys over the summer.
Booker - 7.3
Oubre - 4.4
Rubio - 3.5

Ayton - 2.3
Kaminsky - 2.3

And replaced them with a 90%+ ft shooter who takes 4ish a game.

Crowder isn’t a great FT shooter(career 78) but he doesn’t take many. Moore is weirdly bad(69 last year) but Galloway shot 86% last year.

Jalen Smith will probably be a good FT shooter, too. .750 last year. Plus, we will get more FTs from the Cams.
