It isn't a punishment. It is just when you miss a third of your games during your peak, you aren't going to get credit for what you might have done if you could play.
And much like Karl Malone, he isn't going to be on a lot of all-time great lists because of the child molestation issues.
Wait... Malone too?
In college he fathered a child with a 13 year old. I think he refused to pay child support, too.
from wiki
In 1998, the tabloid newspaper The Globe reported that Malone had been a defendant in paternity lawsuits, filed shortly after Malone began his professional basketball career in the late 1980s. The newspaper alleged that he was the father of three children: two by Bonita Ford, a woman approximately his age from his hometown of Summerfield, Louisiana, and one with Gloria Bell, who was 13 when she gave birth. Malone and Ford were both 17 when twins Daryl and Cheryl Ford were born;[52] Malone was a 20-year-old college sophomore when Bell, at age 13, gave birth to Demetress Bell.[53] In the aftermath of the Globe story, Malone met the Ford twins for the first time since visiting them in the hospital after they were born.[54] Malone did not meet with Bell at that time, and his attorney insisted that Malone had settled the lawsuits before any conclusive establishment of paternity and thus still did not know whether he was truly the father of any of the children.
Wait, the attorney admitted that Malone “did not know” if he was the father, meaning he was admitting that he raped the 13 (or 12?) year old girl?

Yes, but going strictly by how good he was when healthy on the court would put him at a different level than if evaluating off the court issues or what he wasn’t able to do on the court due to missed games/less-than-fully-healthy games.
So if Zion only lasts 3-4 seasons before breaking down, but plays at an all-nba level, he can still make the hall or be considered one of the best ever?

Why did the Heat go full caps with HEAT? Is that like a Trump Florida thing?
Idk, all this time, is it an acronym?

I haven't noticed it until recently. Sort of like the Clippers going by "LA" rather than "Los Angeles."
Market people trying to justify their existence perhaps?

CRYSTAL BALL SUNS 2022

Sigh lol
Leander at Halftime - Another look, here's CP3 off the screen
"With the lob to DA" who
Elevates and Detonates
EJ - "Ha Ha Ha, well Suns fans been waiting on this. It took a while but DA is finally realizing they aren't many who can jump with him and look how excited the Bench gets. That's what has changed with DA in year 4, he's recognizing that when he is aggressive it lifts the whole team"

Ralph Sampson is in the HOF.

Ralph Sampson is in the HOF.
He was a 4 year college player, with 3 of those years as NCAA player of the year. It is the basketball HOF, not NBA.

There is a separate College Basketball Hall of Fame for the Christian Laettner types.

It has been that way since the beginning--just did some research on it:
MIAMI — How do you build a franchise from the ground up? Break ground on a brand new arena? Lay the foundation of everything to come after... the parades, the titles, the evolution of a real basketball culture in South Florida?
It all started with a dream.
From humble beginnings to becoming Miami's hardwood heroes — and everything in between — this is the story of your Miami HEAT.
Our story begins in 1986...

That's interesting. I guess HEAT does look better than playing the Heat. I think I've already spent too much time even thinking about this subject, haha.

The thing about Meyers Leonard is, he can say he didn't know what that word meant. But if he said it so casually in his gaming stream, he has heard and said it before. He probably hangs out in a circle of guys who casually throw out edgy words like "the N word," or the "F word" for gays, or this "K word" for Jews, without hesitation. And it just seeps into your vocabulary. He probably didn't realize how not-cool it was to say that word in a general context.
I don't want to launch into a whole political argument about cancel culture in the main section. My personal opinion is that you should call people out strongly when they make mistakes or do things that are wrong, but you should give people opportunities to learn and grow. If Leonard will put in the time to learn from this and become a better person, I don't want him to face devastating consequences. For example, I would be disappointed if the Heat cut him or suspended him for the season, or if he had a hard time finding work in the NBA for this.

It isn't 'cancel culture' to hold people accountable; it is quality control.
Who would expect to keep their job if their company had video of you saying this?
